Q: Hi, the US portion of my portfolio is composed of about 15 stocks, mostly dividend paying. Because the dollar is fairly high, I am reluctant to buy US stocks at the present time. Therefore, I am looking to add to my US exposure through a dividend paying ETF. I think ZUD (which is hedged to CAN dollar) is a good choice (do you agree?), but I was wondering whether you would have other suggestions for an ETF or even a mutual fund that would pay a dividend. Thanks again for your service.

Q: Hi Team, In my RRSP, I'm Currently holding 30% weight in U.S.market with 20% in VUN (Vanguard Total U.S. Market ETF.) and 10% ZDY (BMO U.S. Dividend ETF) given the potential of rising rates, would I need to get rid of ZDY which has performed well and replace it with VGG.Is there something else you would recommend. Thanks-you! Sam
Q: I know technology and TWLO has a very good tech story. I have noticed although the stock is significantly lower from the highs, institutional ownership went up from 6% to 11%. is there any insights you can provide at this time?
Side note:
This happened to me twice now: I asked a question using my cell phone and in both cases although the Give permission button was selected 5i answer was private which I did not request. I think there is bug in your mobile version. You can contact me via email if you need more info.

Q: I know it's not your primary focus but I am wondering if you could provide some basic information on the above company. An article in Seeking Alpha suggested this US REIT is undervalued because it invests primarily in B Class shopping centres which may be out of favour because of concerns over the growth of e-commerce and how that change of shopping habits will kill these types of properties. If you accept the premise that these smaller plazas are not going to disappear, does this company represent a good value play? It pays a 9.5% (US) dividend and I don't to be in it just to chase a dividend.

Q: A follow up, a few weeks back I was considering selling my Jpm shares, your advice.." was maybe not so fast, best perhaps to continue on as an owner". Good call.
Q: Hi,
Ive own a few etfs (vgg and vfv). I have some other individual stocks as well, but the majority of my portfolio is in the etfs looking for long term growth. I have been thinking about adding emerging markets but am having a hard time rationalizing it. I saw that a few days ago you recommended VEE. Can you explain the value of this etf, or is there a better way to get some emerging markets exposure? VEE opened at 24.65 4 years ago and has been up and down a little, but is only at 28.84 today. Is 4 years not thinking long enough for this? Im just having a hard time seeing the value of adding it to my account since VFV has doubled and VFV is up 65% in less time.
Thanks!

Q: Hello I hold XSP for some US exposure but would like to increase my exposure to US market. Can you advise how much overlap there would be if i purchased VUS. Would it be better to just hold one, and do you have a preference? Thank you. Bill.

Q: Hi Peter and Team
What Canadian listed ETF would you recommend today for US market exposure for the TFSA of a thirty year old with a long term time horizon? Would your answer be any different if it was for an RRSP where the 15% US withholding tax was not an issue? There seem to be hedged and nonhedged versions of all of them so would you recommend a hedged version now with the USD so strong?
Thank you!

Q: Peter and Ryan,
I know you're expertise is Canadian investments, but I'm interested in your thoughts regarding the future prospects for American regional banks. If you believe there is upside in the sector, are there any specific companies you could recommend, or is there an ETF you believe has upside in the future?
Thanks so much for your appreciated guidance.

Q: I have owned WFC for a couple of years and purchased it because it was considered to be the best in class by some (Warren Buffet) although its reputation has been tarnished in the last few months. I know you have always preferred JPM. Would you endorse a switch over to JPM or does WFC still provide a pretty reasonable upside in your opinion?
Appreciate your insight.

Q: I'm considering buying some GILD.My portfolio is all CDN stocks so it should benefit from some diversification and I feel US stocks may gain some strength under Trump.Obviously GILD is very cheap which reminds me a little of Concordia when I bought what I thought was an undervalued health care stock only to watch it nose dive.I also noticed a few reputable investment firms loading up over the last 2 months. My other choice was to buy PBH which is a great company but very expensive. What are your thoughts on a very cheap GILD which adds some diversification vs a fairly expensive PBH which is currently performing much better? I find i'm more of a GARP than a value investor but I appreciate getting a great stock on sale.
Q: Why the pullback this morning? I can find no news.
