Q: Tenneco (TEN.us)
Would you please update your mid-2016 opinion on Tenneco. Is it worth holding given the challenges faced by auto part makers and auto manufacturers. (GM for example has the lowest P/E in the S&P 500, I think--- not sure). I am a value-growth investor who also looks for dividend growth. Does TEN.us have good prospects? Is the company growing and are the fundamentals good?
Incidentally a member last year in a question on Tenneco referred to “the 5i-Scratch-Test”. What is that please?

Q: I purchased Tenneco in July 2016 when it passed the 5I-Scratch-Test, and am now up 39%, comprising 4% of my portfolio. Should I hang onto this one, and is the weighting still appropriate for a moderate risk taker? Earnings come out soon and wondering if they have telegraphed expectations. Thanks!

Q: This company doesn't appear in the drop down menu, for obvious reasons, since it's a US company. Notwithstanding that you do not cover the US, I've come to value 5I's opinion on all my stocks. What are your thoughts on Tenneco on the NYSE, symbol TEN? I'm considering it for a medium to long term hold as I'm intrigued, and hopeful of its premise re: providing clean air ride technology. It would seem to me it should be a no-brainer, given our environmental concerns. Do you agree ...or are there better ones in this space, either in the US or Canada? Thanks!
