Q: Was looking at the financials for this company. They appear to have had a very strong Q3 with revenue increasing 78% year over year based on management's strategy to focus more on water treatment services rather than sales of recovered minerals. However, there are only 1.2M shares outstanding with insiders owning approximately half. Further, the Company is continuing to buy back stock in spite of the already low float. Do you think they are possibly setting up for a "go private" transaction? Otherwise, why would they do this? Do you see value in investing in this company?
Q: Can you give your updated thoughts on Caldwell Partners? In their recent ER the mgmt made comments that growth in this current quarter was getting strong again. If growth is in fact returning, not sure for how long since the revs are lumpy and highly tied to the economy. But if growth returns, does the company look like a decent higher risk microcap buy otherwise? Thx
Just looking at RHT and notice that it has been halted on the Vancouver exchange, since November. It has missed its year end financials as well as Q1 and Q2. Q3 is end of May. Have you ever heard of a company in such distress ( CEO and CFO having left as well) coming out the other side, as a going concern?
Q: I have had GSY in my TFSA for a number of years and am pleased with the performance. For this year’s TFSA contribution I am torn between adding to GSY or starting a new position in PRL. I’m concerned about PRL’s steep runup recently and the potential for a sharp decline once I buy (of course!). I actually don’t mind a short term decline as I am intending this as a longterm hold but I do have concerns about catching the PRL wave as it crests. Given the metrics between these two and the current buy price, what are your thoughts on these two - GSY for it’s stellar track record or PRL for outperformance in growth. Thanks for your thoughts!
Q: Hi 5i,
It looks like Prysmian (from Italy) has made an offer to acquire Encore Wire @ $290.00/share. Encore has 35 days to shop around for other proposals. It also looks like there may be a lawsuit against the Board for failing to conduct a fair process.
What would be your recommendation at this point in the process? Sell or hold?
I was really hoping that this would be a long term hold.
If one were to sell what would be another similar company that you would recommend for a long term hold? Something in the "electrification" and renewables would be preferred.
I already own HPS, PWR, NXT which I suppose I could add to but I may have to trim HPS due to its run up.
How do you feel about MYR Group or Sterling Infrastructure?
Q: Healwell is tremendously appreciating in share price. How does Well health tech. benefit from this. I don't know if they have an investment, part ownership or if its just a collaboration.
Q: I had purchased this company after using stock screener which showed very low valuation. Recent annual earnings were also 26 cents. However, the stock keeps declining especially a large decline from $3 to $1 on very hight volume. Since then volumes have become small. What do you think? Do you think there is still potential. Also, after the annual results, I do not see any quarterly announcement even thought appratenly thier quarter ends Dec 31, 2023. Please provide any insights you may have. Thanks
Q: They have the only non invasive basal cell carcinoma treatment at the moment that is effective as a cure. They found this out after the phase 1 safety and tolerabiliy study. No side effects. Does this look like a good opportunity for investment even though it is very early in clinical trials. This kind of investment is usually high risk but it seems mitigated.
Can you provide comments on Grey Wolf Animal Health Yr End and 4th Qtr results. Also do you think it is a buy at these levels for speculative position. It looks like a nice result and good margin. It is profitable and appears to provide consistent results. Nice cash position on the balance sheet. Also like the Palidan Labs connection with the current CEO. Your feedback would be appreciated.
