Q: Hi 5i, looking for help taming the RIETs part of my portfolio as i own all of the above. Can you help me with selling some REITs (anything I've doubled up on or is not the best choice). I am planning on redistributing the funds to the remaining REITs. As usual your help is appreciated, if you could rank them also that would be great.
Q: I am puzzled by how CEF’s function. ie. RLTY.
Could you explain the concept in simple terms?
Thanks.

Q: I currently don't hold a REIT. Prices have come down considerably. Do you think its a good time to be starting a position in a REIT, and which one is your favorite?
Thx

Q: Could you comment on the sale of Summit, including:
1) is this largely a done deal?
2) are shareholders being bought out for cash, with no option to obtain Dream
Ind. shares?
3) proposed closing date
4) do you think other offers might be forthcoming?
Thank-you, Grant

Q: Hello 5i,
Will Dir.un have to raise cash to close its acquisition deal? If so, what’s your best guess on when they’d have to do this. I recently tax loss sold Dir.un and think it better to wait on finance info to repurchase.

Q: I own grt, smu and dir. I notice that dir and grt are up very strongly today (so far) coinciding with the take-out of smu (announced today). I know you don't give personal advise, however, in principle, do you think it might be time to sell dir and especially grt while their share prices are inflated because of this take out? Perhaps buy them back later when their prices come back down?
Q: Would there be a superior offer coming on this acquisition by DIR.UN?
Q: I own SMU.UN which as announced today , will be bought by GIC and DIR.UN . It is up today by 26%. Would you sell it now or wait until the deal goes throught for a futher upside of about 4%

Q: Just read that SUMMIT is being taken over. Fortunate enough to own both Summit & Dream Industrial in my TFSA along with HOM-UN-T and TCN along with Interent, Killam . Thinking ahead what would you suggest I replace SMU with in the Cdn Reit space?
Thanks David
Thanks David
Q: Peter; I assume this is a “ friendly “ deal - plus when is actual closing? Hope it’s 2023 re taxes. Thanks. Rod
Q: My question is not stock related but hopefully you can help. In the current buyer's market for real estate, would you buy first or sell first?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: For ERE.UN, on Nov. 4 2022, you commented that CAR.UN owned 11% of the outstanding shares. But when I look on SEDI, CAR.UN reports owning 152,237,821 shares. I calculate that to be 65.66% of the shares rather than 11%. Can you please explain/clarify. Thanks
Q: Hi There,
I am considering taking up a position in either DIR.UN or TSU.
After TSU's recent run up, which of the two would be your preference for a 3-5 year hold at current levels?
Additionally, in your opinion, what is the likelihood the the federal government will change the tax rules around REITS in the short term?
Thank you.

Q: the company has come down a lot , sure that being a small company and in Europe are negatives , but since it is somehow protected by CAR.UN , what is your opinion ?, will CAR.UN let them down if things get too harsh ?, is it a good price to get in ?, or better wait until all the bad news settle in H1 2023.
thanks !!
thanks !!
Q: Wondering your thoughts on there earnings this quarter
Q: At this extremely low price,in a RRSP,is it risky to keep this stock ,or is it an acceptable option to keep it for longer term and dividends ?
Q: Thanks for the recent report on DIR.UN.
What is the current FFO payout ratio, and is it sustainable in a prolonged stagflationary environment should it occur ?
I was thinking of pairing this REIT with something in the Self Storage sector such as LSI. Would this be a good plan, or is there a better REIT pairing ?
In general, I thought REITs overall would be performing better in this current bout of inflation. Is it all about interest rates?

Q: Allied reported their third quarter results recently, I find the financial statements supplied by REITs somewhat complicated and challenging to interpret, so my question is twofold can you comment on their results and what you look for in financial statements from REITs in general.
Thanks
Peter
