Q: Canadian banks and residential mortgages
My impression is that Canadian banks sell their mortgages. (Perhaps this is only the case for smaller banks.) Also, a portion of their portfolios would be insured. Do these points have a material impact on the actual exposure of the big banks relative to the apparent exposure arising from the volume of business? Are there comparative bank stats for their exposure in various lending markets, by sector and geography?

Q: With BMO and RY recently announcing they will securitize and sell uninsured Canadian Alt A mortgages, does this indicate that Cdn banks are following in the same foot steps of US financials leading up to 2008 financial crisis? What is your view on what this portends for Cdn financials and the Cdn housing market?

Thanks

Q: Hello 5i
I hold full positions in the above 5 companies in my tfsa and am looking for a replacement for EFN. I am interested in growth and am not concerned with volatility. Also interested in a mid term hold. Many thanks.

Q: The long-term chart seems to show that the downtrend is over. Going back to 2014, the stock was 12.00. Then the oil crash happenned and they suspended the 4% dividend. Today it's 4.80. I'm trying to decide if this is the time to get back in. Gold and commodity prices being up... is this what Cannacord needs to return to its previous highs? Thank you!
