Q: Hi Peter, just a follow up comment to the Becker Milk Company (BEK.B) question that was asked earlier. I am fairly certain that the bulk of the business is renting space to Mac's (owned by Alimentation Couche Tard), and that they don't operate any more Becker's convenience stores.
It might be a bit small for your coverage, but it ticks a few boxes, such as no analyst coverage, no debt, nice dividend (with special dividends now and then), and large management ownership.
With regards to the possible takeout, my initial thoughts were that Couche Tard would get sick of paying rent and buy them out. I am now thinking that it would be a decent way for a REIT to make inroads with a large potential tenant. Does that sound reasonable, or am I way off base?
