Q: Dear Peter et al:

I request you to take off your fundamental analyst hat and put on your options trader hat!
If I were to write (Sell) cash secured puts, which of these companies do you fancy. Will keep July 25th exp as a constant. I usually keep the delta between 15-25. But I know this changes rapidly. On a side note do you give importance to implied volatility?

Feel free to add symbols that YOU fancy for such a trade if you don't like my symbols!!

Q: The Alberta Premier is talking about getting a private company(s)
to build a pipeline to link the resources of Alberta to BC Province
I have all the pipelines in my portfolio
in terms of construction, would WSP, Stn and any other companies benefit from
this Big Project? just like linking the West to the East pipeline which could happen
to benefit all Canadians

Q: Good morning, I am presently down about 30% and wondering whether to just let it be, and wait for a comeback at some point, or sell and deploy funds elsewhere, and if so, what might you suggest as an alternative, keeping in mind that if I sell and invest elsewhere, I would need to make about 50% just to get back to breakeven on my original OXY investment. Q: I have held BCE for about 3 years now. Cost of $20K and it's worth $13.5K now. Down $6,500... 34%. Wondering if it makes sense to sell half of my BCE (about $7K) and buy $7K worth of Telus to try and leverage any potential gains across both rather than just one. I guess, wondering if splitting my investment across two of these telco's makes sense ... and a brief reason as to why (or why not) I should do it.

Q: I am interested in buying ETFs for precious metals. I have read that it is important to ensure that the ETF company holds the metal physically and does not lend it.

I am surprised at the difference in MERs amongst popular funds. For example, for platinum, PPLT is very popular. Its MER however is 0.6% whilst the less popular iShares SPLT is 0.2%.

Do you see any reason why SPLT would be riskier? What words do I need to look for to ensure that the ETF physically holds the metal and does not lend it out?

Q: I would be interested in your professional opinion on covered call ETF's within a non registered account for a duo objective of maintaining principal and generating an income. I have ample growth investments in registered accounts. One draw back I see from. this approach is the tracking of ACB for tax purposes etc, which you don't have in registered accounts, If you have 2-3 recommendations you feel comfortable with, that's appreciated.

Q: I’ve invested in a mining stock called Almonty that has been extremely successful as of late. It’s up over 300 per cent in the last six months. This week it’s been on a terrific run.
The company is just about to mine the highly sought tungsten in South Korea. The price of tungsten continues to go up and it’s in great demand esp by the US government. The plan is to move headquarters to the US and to fulfill contracts with a number of nations. There’s multiple years of this mineral to be mined as well as molybdenum.
What’s not to like about this burgeoning company that appears to be on the threshold of a very successful run?

Q: Hi, Any ideas why a co. goes from $9.00 to $0.50 in a few hours Jun 26, 2025. Was it pump and dump ? This happened to "Ostin Technology Group Co Ltd" ("OST").
It is Chinese company, is it a tariff issue ? or something else.

Q: Hi, I have CPX and have considered switching in the past to FTS or H , because of your ranking. However in the last 5 years it has doubled in price and has a great dividend. Hydro One seems to be keeping pace but has a much lower dividend. Just wondering what I’m missing and would you be more comfortable with a switch to H or FTS. Thanks

Q: You recently responded to a question suggesting investing in materials as ‘inflation protection’. I have zero exposure to the sector. I have 10% of my portfolio in IBIT in lieu of precious metals.

Would you consider bitcoin exposure as an effective alternative to materials for inflation protection?
