Q: Good day,

I currently have 15K$ in KXS, PHO, SIS, PBH, TSGI, TOY, DOL, PXT.
Are any of these stocks I mentioned worth dumping at this point?
Also, I have 10K$ in cash that I would like to invest, what would you recommend from the three portfolios as medium risk?

as a followup to my earlier query on savaria's accounting i would like your further comment

sis employed hedges when it had ZERO debt , claiming it wanted to smooth out earnings variation caused by currency --- in those years this hedging cut profit in half

today they have debt which, along with the hedges, is impairing profit --- revenue is up 55% while operating income rose half that amount and EBITDA, (which is a phoney figure) is even less.

their accounting is unnecessarily complicated which always concerns me

if you look at a big company, like Teck or LNR, the reporting is 'fairly' straight forward

in my opinion these SIS guys try too hard to look better than they are - and are potentially just awaiting the next acquisition to get back to growth

Q: Gentlemen - I know you guys have liked RAY.A in the past. It's had a rough run the last month and earnings are to be reported shortly. I wonder if I should be a contrarian here and take a position. Love the increasing dividend and high insider ownership as well as increasing free cash flow which will bring down the leverage over time. Thoughts?

Do we know the significance of today's BC court ruling. I am guessing that any new pipeline will still need all the environmental approvals and indigenous consultations but BC is not allowed to just forbid hydrocarbons from entering the province.

15% Savaria Corp
14% Vanguard All World ex Canada
8% Bank Savings Account
Question: With the belief a more growth oriented stock is needed to help off set the present conservative holdings I am looking for ideas.
I am thinking Open Text or CGI for additional planned contributions.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: Has Great Canadian Gaming bought back shares since Q1 (last quarter)? Has there been any insider buying/selling?

Q: I am a new investor with my focus being on the long term. When I review the Reports for different companies, should I focus on specific grades with the Report Card. For example:
5 YR ROE;
5 YR EPS; or
should I place more emphasis on the overall rating?

At the end of your article you concluded that Questor Technology is one of the few stocks that checks "most of the boxes" on your screen. That said I am curious why 5i did not resume coverage on this Company and/or add Questor Technology to the 5i model growth portfolio given its great performance year-to-date?

Q: not sure i really get the price of air transat, takeover price of 13.00 at a minimum, stock at 11.60, deal chance about 75% , maybe more, so when announced stock should go to 12.60 discount because of regulatory issues and 6-8 months to close, and this does not take into account any higher bid so why is stock at 11.60. dave

Q: What is your assessment of SYZ? Last earnings were a little light. What does your crystal ball see for the company? It's backed off 10% or so and now has been stuck in a range for a long time.

Q: You mentioned plus to a question as being in the cannabis gummy market. I noticed they had record revenues this past quarter and they are accelerating expiration of their warrants convertible at .69 US—if I understand what I am reading on the company. So my question is is it investible at this time in a TFSA for growth.

Q: I was a latecomer to learn about 5iResearch so alot of your stock picks in the model portfolios had grown too high for me to jump in on and put together a proper plan. I was wondering, with so many new stocks coming on the market since 2013, will you be putting together any new model portfolios with lower entry prices for members who were late to the party? I'm not sure if this has been asked before but I was wondering if it's better to buy US stocks with Canadian cash or transfer the Canadian cash to US then buy. I have a questrade account and was looking at buying some US options.
