Q: Could you recommend a Cdn Materials, Utilities and Gold ETF for long term hold in a registered account ?

Q: Could you please recommend a Target Date Fund or funds going out to at least 2050 that have respectable reputations with great management teams solid performance and are fairly priced.

DMTK I came across DermTech listening to a MF US stock advisor live session on 10X opportunities. I spent some time reviewing their most recent earnings transcript and other research and the technology for non invasive detection of skin cancer seems powerful but super early in terms of adoption (a brief excerpt is below). I am considering buying for TFSA and have the following questions:
1. What is your general opinion?
2. Do you have any information on how a dermatologist would be paid for using this test vs surgery? My fear would be that the tech is amazing but dermatologists may not use it if it would reduce their revenue

"Currently, approximately 25 surgical biopsies are performed to find one melanoma. And despite all this cutting, the negative predictive value of this pathway is only about 83%, which means the probability of missing melanoma is approximately 17%. The PLA reduces the number of surgical biopsies needed to identify melanomas by approximately 10-fold and increases the negative predictive value so 99%, meaning the PLA has less than 1% probability of missing the disease. DermTech is effectively bringing melanoma diagnosis into the 21st century by transforming it from a pathway to subjective, invasive, inaccurate and costly to one that is objective, non-invasive, highly accurate, and less costly."

Q: Hi Peter
My wife and I are fully invested in TFSA and RSP accounts. I have about $150,000 to invest. I guess I need to use taxable accounts, which I have no knowledge about.
Can you point me some good resources on taxable accounts and how to get started.
If I am already at the top of the tax bracket, is it worth consulting with a tax consultant before I go down this path?
Any guidance on approach and methodology will be very helpful.

thanks for the prompt answer to my question yesterday. I need just a bit of clarification on the answer, though. I was keeping companies like Alphabet and Microsoft along with etf"s because I thought they might have an outsized upside in the future. You say, thought, that all these stocks can be found in a typical etf and then go on to suggest another handful of stocks. I am not sure if you mean that because Alphabet, Microsoft etc, are so well represented in the etf's that I don't need to hold them separately and focus instead on stocks similar to the ones mentionned?

Q: enbridge came out with annual investors day presentation today and just wondering if you guys listened to it. they increased the dividend by only 3% but to me that was being cautious for outlook next year cause who knows what will happen but happy in their decision to raise a bit at least. just wanted your thoughts and as a sidenote i get a
newsletter from a reputable writer in ontario here and he was saying in one of his latest reports that 80% of all trading on the canadian markets [tsx] comes from south of the border now. i did not know that and is this right?

Q: Hi folks...I see Nuvei won a contract with Columbia's leading operator on on-line gaming; Wplay. It accounts for almost 50% of gaming revenue in Columbia with 1.6M users. Any idea if this is the biggest on-line gaming contract Nuvei has won to date (Colorado, Indianna, West Virginia). Is Nuvei the leader in processing payments for on-line gaming....and should it be the big beneficiary on recently legalized on-line gaming in US & now Canada. Stock has done well but seems to be flying under the radar with min volume, and not much reaction from analysts....thanks as always, jb Piedmont QC
