Q: Keysight was a top pick on BNN yesterday. It looks like a good company with good fundamentals. Do you have any more information on this company? I'm looking for a tech company (not software) for at least a medium term hold.
Q: I am heavy financials at about 20%, I should probably trim the herd....All but CHW will generate a large capital gain as I have held most for a long time. I hate to sell CHW as it pays a crazy div right now at almost 8%.
I am leaning towards holding all but taking the dividends and putting into other sectors (stock from the your balance portfolio following your balanced equity portfolio) and not adding any new financials to my holding.
Can you provide a compelling argument for selling 1 or 2 of the above for the sole purpose pf rebalancing out of financial. Or is my slow but steady approach with lower tax implications a reasonable compromise knowing I will be heavy financial for several years.
Q: Hi there, I am looking to own a broad market index canadian ETF and I am wondering what the best one to hold is between the companies I listen above (or if there is one that you would recommend that are different than these companies). I am holding this ETF inside a TFSA and I was hoping you could firstly, suggest a good index ETF to hold and for what reasons is is a good one. Thanks in Advanced! XIU,XIC,VCN ZCN
Q: Does Laurentian Bank have it's mortgage issues behind them yet and if not any idea as to when this will happen? I have not seen any news of yet. What are your thoughts moving forward for this stock.
Q: Just an admin question on your answer to Brad today, re the Manulife Strategic Income Fund. You mentioned that the MER is .97, but I'm seeing that that is for the 'F' series, which as I understand it, if you have an advisor where you're paying a fee, you get to buy the 'F' version (which is the trailer removed version). But if you're doing your own, I understood that the MER would be about 1 point higher than the 'F' series. So in this case, 1.97% Mer. Is this correct?
Thanks very much...
Q: Is this an opportune time to harvest a tax loss for ECI? Is there anything in the next 30 days that has a realistic possibility of causing it to reverse its steady decline (which seems to have no technical support for quite a ways yet)?
Q: Regarding GUD and ENDP Asked by Serge and others waiting for GUD to make a move. Considering debt load, Enbridge merged with Spectra, Davis and Henderson bought Harland Financial. What happened to ENB share price and where is D&H today. Could Knight be biting off too much as well if they were to move on ENDP considering the debt they would inherit?
Quote: "ENDP has more than $7B in debt and less than $600M in cash flow in the last 12 months. The stock is down 50% in a year. Interest expenses of $488M last year ate up nearly all of its total cash flow. Earnings are lower than they were 8 years ago."
Q: I have US $ Portfolio: FB,SHOP,CGNX,AMZN,NVDA,SQ,NFLX,MA.
Yesterday I sold all of CCGNX because of down trend and Dead cross on
EMA50 & EMA200. I have around 20 K US$ from the sell.
Please suggest some some US stocks to replace CGNX that you would buy
right now or should I wait for change of trend to up to repurchase CGNX.
Andrew
Q: Vulcan is a US company selling in the US, so I think they will see some benefit from the tax changes. Your thoughts on the company and whether you think they will see further benefit from the infrastructure spending that is in the works. Thank you.
