Q: I have all these names in different on my accounts. I am looking for the best total return (capital gain and dividend).
I think BN represents the best total return opportunity in the next five year.
Is it wise to consolidate into BN now.

Q: Hi, these are my stocks that are currently down, and would like to do some weeding,and tax loss planning.
I would like to sell one outright, sell three to half position, and maybe keep the remaining position.
The idea is to acquire cash to slowly add to my more stable holdings like ( BN:SLF: CSU etc.).

Q: The Labour Contracts being signed today at 30 % and 40 % increases Airline Pilots, UPS, Port Workers in BC and more to come by Auto Makers and Hollywood means more inflation down the road and higher rates by Powell. This could go on for years. Causing defaults on Mortgages ,personal bankrupcy , credit card defaults. It does not look good.



Then there is China and unemployment of 25 and under at 26 % . No Jobs. China is fully built. Apartments Condos High Speed Trains, Highways etc. Nothing else to build. This will cause unrest with the young. What can XI do.. Not more military. They have the largest in the world

Then there is the expansion of BRIC by adding 6 new Members like Saudi, and Iran. plus 4 more.

And what about stealing of goods from all retailers and nothing being done to stop this stealing. Even people walk in to LCBO and help themselves and staff is told not to interfere. Why because every bad guy probably has a gun,




Question Why Own Stocks Why not Just a laddered Bond Portfolio of 1 to 7 year bonds with a yield of 7 % plus for the next few years.

Q: It appears from the news release that the rights dividend allows a holder to purchase a debenture. There is no indication of allowing and existing debenture holder to switch issues to a non redemptive issue.
This is exactly the way csu sold its original tranche of debentures.
It also states that this issues is an additional to the previously issued debs,ie no series 1 and 2
Am I missing something

Under the rights offering, the company will issue the rights in satisfaction of the rights dividend that will entitle the shareholders to buy up to $700 million of unsecured subordinated floating rate debentures, Series 1 of the company.
The Series 1 debentures will be issued as an additional tranche of, and will form a single series with, the outstanding $282.2 million of unsecured subordinated floating rate debentures, Series 1 of the company. There is no minimum principal amount of debentures that must be issuable upon the exercise of rights.
The company plans to use the net proceeds of the rights offering to pay down debt under its existing credit facility and use any remaining proceeds for future acquisitions.
The rights will be issued in satisfaction of the rights dividend in the amount of one right per common share.
The rights will be exercisable until 4:30 pm Toronto time on Sept. 29 at $133 per $100 principal amount of Series 1 debentures purchased, plus accrued interest in the amount of $0.217 per $100 principal amount of Series 1 debentures purchased on account of interest accrued on the Series 1 debentures from, and including, Sept. 30 to, but excluding the issue date.

Q: I have owned this fund for a number of years for the dividend - now over 13% paid monthly. But I am down over 40% on it. Not good math! It is in a registered account so no benefit of tax loss selling. Do you have a sense of whether it will recover as interest rates stabilize? Is there a risk of a dividend cut? I am not familiar with the companies in it. Now regret buying something I don't understand but it was a recommend on BNN.

NGT's performance in the last 12 moths seems to be below par, relative to their peers and the future does not seem to be very promising.
