Q: Hi Peter & Co.,
I've been waiting for the right time to take a position in Bonterra Energy. They announced yesterday that CRA may be reassessing their taxes for 2008-2012, which could result in a $25M tax bill. Mgmt advises this will not affect their business plan or payment of dividends. What do you think? Should I be concerned about the impact of a reassessment, or does this present a good entry point? (stock is down today)

Q: My non trading account has about 50% in equities as follows
41% in 3 canadian banks
12% in PWF
14% in TRP
These have been long holds which have done well but should I consider more diversity if so in what areas?I am a senior

Q: I understand Amazon isn't your area of expertise, but can you give us your opinion of Amazon. If you look at a 10 year graph, one would think that steep curve upward signals it's in bubble territory.

For a company that still hasn't made any profits, are you optimistic about Amazon living up to its share price?

Q: Hi Peter and Team: Do you think it is an appropriate time to buy a materials ETF, or should I wait?
On the subject of the number of questions: I think each question should pose essentially one focussed issue for your analysis. To ask for details on more than one stock is being greedy, but asking for a comparison of two similar stocks would be OK (in my opinion). Infrequent questioners who have multiple queries should pose multiple but separate questions.

Q: Redknee Solutions (T.RKN) announced that it has signed on "one of the largest retailers in the Americas" to Redknee's cloud-based converged billing and customer care platform.

Q: I just received a letter from lonestar about a special meeting to vote on changing the year end Which is okay. l noticed they are also proposing a stock option plan up to 10% of the floats. I like the idea of employees owning shares but is 10% a reasonable percentage. I would have thought 5% would be more reasonable. What is normal, reasonable while balancing incentives for employees while not watering down the # of shares.
I want to echo another reader concern. I write in very in frequently but may have multiple questions at that time.

Q: MDF - Mediagriff is the parent company of InterTrade Systems which just announced a deal with Bare Necessities. I trust this is a positive. I have a part position in MDF presently and wonder if this would warrant adding more? The stock has not been exciting to date.

Insiders of MDF were buying a week before the news. I find that somewhat suspect. They also bought more a couple of days after.

Q: Can I get your opinion on jfs.un I have recently taken huge gain off the table and I'm sitting with quite a bit of cash here. Everyone on tv keeps saying that there is still a way to go with this stock market but I also remembering hearing this in 2007 and 1999 and we both know what followed those years. Now I'm not saying that the stock market is about to crash, but JF's track record in a downturn is pretty good. Just looking for some feedback, thanks.

Q: How does LOY's earnings announcement today impact your view on it as an investment, taking account that its share price has moved up today already? Also, might the announcement last week that the CEO is not accepting additional options granted to him by LOY have been the result of feedback from large investors that the number of options that were being granted to him was excessive, especially considering the general weakness in the share price to that point?
