Q: Hi all,
ISSI a small us tech company is taken over by a consortium. ISSI Enters Into A Definitive Merger Agreement To Be Acquired By Consortium For $19.25 Per Share

Following the announcement I received roughly 15 email alerts of law firms launching investigations of the deal. This seems to confirm the feeling I have - 20% premium over Wednesday price isn't much.

Now what to do? I worry if I hold and the deal collapse investors will punish the stock due management not working in shareholders best interest. Any chance of better deal in this case? Thanks

Q: Hey Peter & Team

recently Insider Money reported that John Paulson at the end of 2014 purchased a significant number of shares (9 mill) in MNK. Since then the share value has seen a 21% appreciation and in the past year, shares have increased by by over 45%.

As a retail investor, it is becoming obvious we are the dummies out here and that hedge fund managers and the like are getting information well ahead of us.

Is there a way us little people are able to get a hold of information like this in real time?

And how should we be using the 5i site to get concurrent information on companies that have a change which will effect share values

And what are your thoughts on MNK moving forward?

Any www sites you can provide that might help us understand what big/smart money is doing in real time would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Regarding Linda's question on washing within RRSP. RBC Direct for a few years now, has both US and Canadian currency accounts in RRSP, TSFA and all other accounts. Thus when you trade US securities they stay in US $ and you are not hit with currency exchanges coming and going. I find this feature a huge advantage.

Q: I have held VB(NYSE) in a RIF for approx.2 yrs. Including the substantial change in currency, I am up about 45%, however this sector has somewhat flat-lined recently. I am thinking of selling this security & would appreciate your thoughts on buying into a medical/pharmaceutical index in the US.

Q: Peter and Team,

If looking for US equity exposure and exposure to US businesses with International earnings, doesn't it make sense to buy Berkshire and simply trim the weighting when it rises in order to "pay yourself."

If seems to me this would leave one with a long term hold of a diversified collection of bluechip businesses and minimize fees because you don't pay a management fee and you don't have to buy a bunch of companies individually.

Any thoughts on this approach?
