Q: Happy Holidays. CBM which I hold is one of a few US stocks that I have on my 5i list of US stocks that you endorse. Three weeks ago it hit $55.00 and has been down daily over the last ten days to $48.00. I am at a break even point now. Obviously there must be something causing this steady selling of the stock and hopefully you can enlighten me about what it is. If there is any negativity in the company. Thanks Dennis

Q: Hello and Merry Christmas!
Heading in to 2016 I am concerned about the impact of fx on my US holdings (about 25% of my equity portfolio). I have held the listed stocks in US$ for well over a year. Most are down on the purchase price but overall I am up in Cdn$ on account of the fx. My concern is a reversal in fx essentially wiping out any future gains in the underlying price of stocks like JCI or EMR where the strong US$ is often cited as a negative. As I see it I can: a) Sell and re-invest in an etf like CUD or XQQ that is currency hedged; b) hold and find some way to hedge against gains in the Cdn$ myself (any ideas here?); or c)do nothing . Any suggestions?

Q: Hello Peter and team;
In the Globe & Mail today, under the heading of Stock Analysis, they did some number crunching on some U.S. Insurance Companies.
In my U.S. portfolio i am looking to add a U.S. Insurance company. Out of the 4 companies they highlighted, which one would you recommend for growth, and value?
Thanks
Stephen

Q: Hello team,
Can you please compare HAIN and WWAV in the natural and organic foods area? Which one do you consider a better investment for growth looking 2 to 3 years out?
Also, what are your thoughts on Cypress Semiconductor (CY) as an investment in the US technology sector.
Thanks for all your help!!!
Happy Holidays.

Q: Hello Peter & Team
I just purchased a very small position of NLY for its attractive
yield in RRSP. Is the yield save?
Can you give some insight of this REIT.
Thanks as always.

Twitter finally has a Ceo and company is making a profit but stock trading near new lows. Q: Hi 5i team,
How do you feel about Blackrock (BLK) in the US? Seems with more and more people moving towards index investing, and with the rise of robo-advisors, this would be a good way to play that trend. Seems to have a solid dividend and pulled back a bit recently.
Any comments or reasons to avoid? Perhaps a different company to think about?
Thanks and happy holidays.

Q: Am I possibly missing something, I am setting up a portfolio for my Grandchildren over 15 year time frame.
Considering - dis, goog, fb, amzn. Set it and forget it.
With the current US ex, is this a detriment over the long time frame.

Q: I would like clarification on hedging when buying USD securities via a CDN ETF: if the USD is going up and by comparison the loonie going down is it to your advantage to buy a hedged product or not? I am a little confused as I am sure there are times when hedged is good, and others, when it is not? Intuition tells me know is the time for hedged to protect loonie denominated ETF holding USD securities. The ETF XHY holds Us corp.: with interest rates going up in very small increments in the USA this should cause bond yields to go up as people move their money somewhere else - or not?
Q: For a non hedged etf would VUN be a good choice for USA exposure?
Is there one you would recommend?
Thanks

Q: what are your thoughts on the Disney Downgrade last week? Especially with what looks to be a big success in star wars so far. Is there alot to be concerned about with weakness in espn subscribers?
Q: Hi 5i: There are actually two questions, which for me are linked. First, could I have your opinion on Adobe Systems. It seems expensive (not surprising) but maybe not so much given good growth. Second, how do you think Disney will fare with respect to the ESPN issue - I have heard differing opinions on the likely impact. I am considering at least a partial switch from DI to ADBE and would value your opinion. Roland
Merry Xmas to all, and thanks for the great help over the last year.
