Q: What is your opinion of using a UVXY covered call strategy as an income-producing hedge against market downturns? One recent two week at-the-money call was worth 3%. (i.e. recent = last week, before yesterday's volatilty)
Q: Hello Peter and Company. Could I have your thoughts on Flour Corp. I have noticed a slower but continued uptake for it's services as noted in recent awarded contracts. Do you believe this is a attractive price for a company that is still growing? I am also interested in any margin or depletion of cash from the balance sheet you may see.
Thank you Jason
Q: With the breakup of JDSU soon, can you explain the right of debenture owners to convert to common stock although JDSU says it does not expect anyone will because the conversion price is $18 and change well above the price JDSU is trading at i.e. $12.50 or so. So what happens? Do debenture owners get paid out? Thanks.
Q: Further to Larry's question on Hack, it appears Pure Funds only has 2 very unique funds at this time (albeit with plans to add more). Should one be wary of investing in a new fund provider, especially one offering a non traditional product line-up. I like the idea of the Hack fund but am somewhat wary of Pure Funds unless they have a proven prior track record in the industry? How much of a concern should this be?
Q: Most (if not all) North American rail companies have pulled back in recent months, some are down ~20% from 2015 highs. Is this a good entry point for UNP.us? If you have a better suggestion [ CSX, NSC or other] I would appreciate your input. I would prefer a Canadian railway , but only if you think its future prospects are favorably comparable to one of the US ones. Thanks
UNP got my attention because of its rail connections with fast-growing Mexico.
Q: Hi guys,
What is your opinion about this company? It seems interesting and I am looking for a medium to long term investment. Do you recommend to buy, wait or pass? Anything better on this side of the border ?
Thank you,
Q: Hello, Can you tell me what do you think of this REIT? It has taken a beating since being spun out from Simon Properties. It has a 7% yield & some insider buying. It was a top pick from Derek Warren on Market Call yesterday.
Thanks,
Martin
Q: Greetings! What do you think of Helen of Troy as a growth stock? Ford Equity Research rates it as a "BUY". Is it over=priced? And, can you suggest a couple of other US stocks for fairly rapid growth?
Q: Hi 5i:
I have not specifically bought any stocks as a play on US housing, but I'm thinking it may be time to do so. For possibilities I'm looking at Canadian lumber stocks, US home builders and US banks as sectors from which to chose. Do you have any advice? Of the US banks I've heard WFC suggested as the best housing play. Would you agree?
Q: Would this be a good time to initiate a position in GE now that they are refocusing the company and dispensing of a variety of divisions. Thanks as ever
Q: Hi Team, I hold full positions in the above ETF's , do you think there is a bit of overlap between VV and VIG? If so , any recommended alternatives. Thanks for your expertise and wise counsel.
Q: Hi 5I: currently my portfolio holds only Canadian growth stocks. We feel that we are missing US growth, so therefore would appreciate your help. With 150K (Canadian) to invest, could you give 4 or 5 suggestions that we might enjoy the same measure of growth and dividends we get from the model portfolio.
