Q: GE: General Electric
I would appreciate your thoughts on why the stock price has dropped quite significantly lately [compared to the 52 week high].
Is this a good entry point?
thanks
Q: Would you advise a switch from Goldman Sachs (GS) to Bank of America (BAC)? Bank of America seems cheaper on a P/B basis and no more expensive on forward P/E.
Q: AAPL: Apple. Down 7% or so today. Icahn buys another $500 M. Is the market right or is Icahn right? I had been holding on to my Apple shares expecting better results. Is there another US stock with better potential (e.g. Qualcomm) for me to switch into or should patience rule the day for a while yet?
I am not well versed in advanced accountng & am an amateur investor. Could you please explain why Sales Force.Com (CRM) and Netsuite (N) on NYSE, stock prices keep rising even though their income statements show several years of Operating Losses. I thought the market punishes non-profitable companies.
Q: Could you please give me your opinion on fls Flowserve & ttek, Tetra tech. Both have had recent pull backs. Our they buys now. Thanks for your great research
Q: I have some HVPW Equity High Volatility Put Write Index Fund in my portfolio. One piece that I do not understand, is how bad must the market be for this fund to have a significant loss
My question is about the advantages and disadvantages of buying the same ETF's in different forms. My example would be using the Vanguard Fund ETF's symbol VGG, VGH and VIG. VGG is a Canadian ETF sold on the TSX in $Cdn whose sole holding is VIG, a US$ ETF that you have recommended on many occasions. VGH is also sold on the TSX and is $Cdn Hedged., it's sole holding is also the US VIG. Is it advantageous to buy VGG in $Cdn and own VIG indirectly or is it better to buy VIG on the US exchange in a $US account. What is the advantage or disadvantage of each route to buying and holding VIG?
Many thanks for a wonderful service.
Q: My question is on Starbucks (SBUX) I saw that you answered a question on this stock already today. I have been a holder of Starbucks since April 2011 and have had over a double. My wife wants to continue to hold it for another 3 plus years in hopes for a 2:1 split. I was debating taking some off the table. We are most likey going to continue to hold it. My question is what do you think of yesterdays earnings report? Depending on who comments on it around the interenet yo can find good and bad about it. The earnings seemed fine to me.
Q: What do you think the upside going forward on Microsoft is looking at a long term hold, five plus years. Yesterdays earning looked awesome in my opinion but what is your expert opinion? Do you think they will every spin off Xbox or is that just a rumour?
Q: You last commented on CHB in May 2013. It has done quite well for a fixed income ETF over 3 years with an average return of 8.34%. Would you care to update your opinion on their hybrid strategy in the present investment climate? Thank you.
Q: Hi, I am considering buying Chubb (CB). I like that they are buying back shares, that they have a good history of raising the dividend (although the yield is not very high) and that debt seems low. The p/e seems also reasonable but I don't know if it is average for this type of company. I would like your view on whether it is good value at this price. Thanks.
Q: The Retail stocks in the US have taken a large hit lately. If the story on a gradually improving US economy hasn't changed I am wondering if you think the sector has some value at the moment. In particular your thoughts on Bed Bath and Beyond (BBBY),and Ross Stores (ROST), would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Mike
Q: Hi Peter and 5iResearch Team,
What is your opinion re: Starbucks SBUX, given the recent pullback and growth in China and India. Do you think this presents a buying opportunity for a 3-5 year hold?
Thank you.

Q: I've almost completed a diversification of my current portfolio, and need only to build in more telco. In another portfolio I have plenty of T and BCE. What do you think of VZ? Any other suggestions, Canadian or foreign?
