Q: Could you please interpret the comments made on the recent results release. It sounds as though there will be little improvement in the share price over the next year, if I am understanding their comments correctly ? If so, it would seem to make sense to sell my shares (1.5% of a diversified portfolio) now and re-invest in something with more potential for growth in the coming year. Is there another company in this sector that you would recommend ?

Q: I have stock in Allergan. I understand that Actavis ACT.US has agreed to buy Allergan for $219 per share.

A Pershing- Valeant has sent a proxy to buy and replace Allergan directors.

I do not understand that if Allergan has been purchased by Actavis, why there is this proxy battle for Valeant still to buy Allergan. This was in the mail to-day

Q: It has come to my attention that we Canadians can purchase cross-listed stock AGU,BMO etc and enjoy US dollar dividends being paid into our accounts and not subject to any withholding tax because the head office is in Canada...is this really so? I even read you don't even have to purchase the NYSE listed version, one can simply purchase the tsx listed version and request your broker regularly pay dividends in your USD portion of your account...again have of you heard of this...? Can this be a good strategy?

Q: I have a small position in Trinity and noticed that the stock is down more than 11% today on no news. Is this something with legal issues? What's your opinion of Trinity growth potential? For a long term investor do you suggest selling, holding, or buying at the current levels? Thanks.

Q: Good morning Peter and Team, The recent Q and A about ZWH has me thinking about my own strategy. I own a position in CLU.C, and its chart shows a 21% gain for the last 12 months compared to 14.91% gain for ZWH, even though CLU.C has a smaller dividend. What do you think of CLU.C? Thanks!

Q: Hello Peter and Team, I have a telecom sector exposure of 12.5% in my registered aggregate portfolio. This exposure is made of 3 companies: AT&T, Telus, and Bell(BCE). Is 12.5% expposure to telecom too high? What do you think of AT&T? It certainly has an interesting dividend of 5.3% Thanks, Gervais

Q: I have parked US$ in a money market fund that pays 0.2 % pa. (RBF2014 in my case). That is a negative real return and money rusts away while you wait wait for the US market to cool its overheated jets. For parking C$ I use iShares CBO. Are you able to suggest any US$ short term* non-hedged US$ bond ETF? (* meaning 1 to 5 year). Funds would be required as and when reasonable prices are found or if US markets pull back. The holding period could thus range from several weeks to months.
Thank you. Best, Adam

Q: Hi,

Despite my doing quite well on stocks in the last couple of years, I've discovered I'm still trailing the s&p500 which is up 17% annually in last five years. This is what couch potato etf investing theory warms us about - statistically very unlikely to beat the market. Two questions.
1) given that we can't expect those kinds of broad gains in next two years, and that everyone is chiming 'its a stock pickers market", would you still recommend a s&p etf for a 20% position for the next few years?
2) can you recommend a couple CDn and US S&P etfs for me?

Q: Hi, Further to my question on 20 Nov., would you pls. clarify this: "TriQuint shareholders will receive 1.675 shares of Qorvo and RFMD shareholders will receive 1 share of Qorvo for each TriQuint or RFMD share held. At the closing of the transaction, the Company will execute a one-for-four reverse stock split."
RFMD holders will receive i share of QRVO, right? Will holders of TQNT receive 1.675 shares of QRVO or only 1 share of QRVO? Also, what's the implication of the reverse split?
Thank you!
