Q: Thanks for looking at this..I seen your response to 3D and I have xone do you feel that this is on that could make it or should I put a stop on this...thanks ...
Q: DDD... 3D Systems Corporation : This really seems to be the stock of the future . that is the only answer,.. the rest are questions .
Is it the best in what it does, or should I be looking elsewhere ? ... It really plunged on a selloff, so it may be a good timing play now ? ... is it liquid enough or ridiculously risky ? Is $66.66 a good omen or a bad one ? it bounces 5% in a day .
... Thanks /Cheers
One of the first books I read on investing was "One Up on Wall Street" by Peter Lynch. Of course, he advocated doing things such as going to mall and observe which stores were busy.
In that vein, I keep thinking of Costco as every time I go to one of their stores all I see is a steady stream of people going through the registers.
I don't think there is a COST question on the site and I simply just wanted your thoughts on this company. As I read through their Edgar filings, it just seems that this stock is ridiculously expensive. Is this just a great company but a lousy stock?
Q: I have been a member for a year or so and this is my first question. I know you do not usually cover US stocks but I have US cash to invest and would appreciate your recommendation for a couple of ideas, possibly in the Info Tech sector or any other sector you think will do well in 2014. Thanks so much.
Q: I own AAPL and BA in the US market and I recently reduced my position in Boeing (BA on NYSE) and would to invest the cash in another US stock US stock of the same calibre as AAPL and BA. Any recommendations?
Q: NXPI NXP Semi has been on a fairly fierce upswing since the low last April. I know it is outside your bailiwick but could you give an assessment of its value?
Q: Hello: I would be interested in your views on Hannon Armstrong (HASI-NYSE), its business model and Q3 results (Sept 2013). What key metrics should be considered when evaluating an investment and financing company like this one?
I am looking for Companies that would benefit from the updating, and repair of the US electrical infrastructure.
With the possibility of terrorist targeting the electrical facilities (Apr 17th attack on the PG&E Metcalf Power Substation, San Jose), coupled with the damage done by acts of God (floods, hurricanes, etc) and the latest winter outages, I believe Companies involved electrical contracting / repair would make for good investments.
Another sector would be Companies that supply the components to fix / upgrade the power facilities.
You have mentioned your favourite U.S. ETFs are IWO (Small Cap) and VIG/SPY (U.S. large Caps, I think ?). I have not seen much mention of U.S. Mid-Cap and Micro-Cap ETFs in your responses. Can you let me know which ETFs you would recommend for these and is there a reason why they are not your favourites as compared to IWO/VIG/SPY ?
Q: Hello Peter and Company
How would you rate Cash America International (CSH-NYSE) as an investment for 5 years in a TFSA account? Is it too volatile?
Q: Are any members familiar with the Linde Equity Report which focuses on American stocks? In 2013 it was ranked top financial newsletter - in contrast Jim Cramer's (Mad Money)was 77th. I'd appreciate any feedback members may provide.
Thank you in advance,
Helen
