Q: The good news: I bought Shopify in August '16 @ $51.
The bad news: Didn't buy enough!
The question: With the stock at $79.31 and the RSI at 87 (gasp)is adding more at this point just a bit crazy? What I am really doing is holding your feet to the fire on the notion of buying stocks that are running i.e. where is the break point when valuations and emotions are running too high and it's prudent to step back?
Q: Do you think Intrinsyc may benefit from small cap institutional buying, analyst coverage given the money made from recent small cap tech takeovers of RDM and TIO this week and while the stock is still inexpensive?
Q: The first thing this morning I read a BNN headline: "Shopify reports bigger loss as expenses soar." Well, one thing for sure that's soaring is shopify's stock, up 6% on almost triple volume on early trading.
If anyone can shed some light on this predicament, it would be 5i.
Q: Do you see Sandvine as a potential takeover target? I've stuck with them because they seem to be in a business with good growth prospects, but I'm losing patience. Thinking of moving on.
Thanks.
Q: Looking to spread my Technology investments into US$ shares in one of these 3 positions. All seem to be doing extremely well and appear quite similar to each other. Share prices go from $128-$52-$17 and psychologically I have an aversion to paying over $100/share (I know there is no rational to that).
Would appreciate your analysis of these 3 and recommendation or any others in this arena.
Q: I own sierra wireless and I guess earnings look good. Stock is up nicely over $5.00 today. I want to add but wonder about forward earnings. They seem to be getting some traction sort of like nvda in the automobile space. Thanks.
Q: Could you please give me your opinion of the future growth of Servicenow (NOW), and whether you think it is a good hold. Is a drop of an expected growth rate from 150% to 50% a real concern?
Q: Now that Apple has risen to within 1% of its all time high and I am finally at a position slightly higher than when I bought, I am considering selling the shares and would be interested in your latest view on whether this is a good time to sell, or whether there is any advantage to waiting a while.
The shares are held in my wife's RRIF and if sold, I would want to buy something else in the same sector, or move into the health/pharma sector.
I bought the shares a few years ago after asking your advice and you suggested to buy either AAPL or GOOG. I suspect that GOOG has done much better since and I have to say I was never really impressed with the low dividend that AAPL pays, especially considering how much cash it has on hand.
Does the tech sector still have legs? Are there any companies you like in the tech sector in the US that pay a 3%+ dividend and still a chance of growth?
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
What is your thought on Sierra Wireless quarter earning?
Would you see better future ahead?
I own this stock for almost two years, slightly below my cost.
Should I continue to hold ,or Would you think it is time to add some more, which is 1.75% weighting of my p/f.
Q: Good morning team. What do you think of NVDA quarterly results last night (Thursday)? My holding has grown to 3.5%. The after hours market looks neutral. I'm not sure why. Much thanks for all you do.
Q: as a follow up question on Redknee rkn/t,after another poor Q,I took your advice and dumped. I have 300 shares Avigilon at $20.80 and question is should I use my Rkn/t proceeds to double down on Avo at $15sh level,or would you suggest another 5i tech like pho/v or Intrynsic itc/t. Thanks as always, jb (you keep me sane haha)
