Q: I know in your last answer you indicated you had simply run out of patience with GUD. Wondering what your thoughts are now ? Outside of some major move (maybe a buyout or privatization) do you see much chance for significant capital appreciation over the next year. I'm down over $5K on 2000 shares ...wondering if I should just move on ...and if so, any suggestions (maybe HHL) ?

Q: With all the recent changes in Brookfield, I would like to find out who is the ultimate corporate entity behind these preferred shares. And if the corporation has become a US corporation, do these preferred still qualify for the dividend tax credit? How do you rate it for safety?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Everyone, interest rates move in a wave pattern. When the Fed wants to reduce inflation they increase the interest rate and when inflation declines to their range of near 2% they reduce the Fed rate. This past year - ish the Fed has significantly increased the rate from near zero and recently they have slowed the rate increases. Soon they will stop the increases, then no increases and then reduce the interest rate. The time frame of the holding pattern and declines is dependent on inflation. What does that mean in general for the economy and more specifically for the technology sector. Clayton

Q: Curious to see Knight back to all time lows despite so much promise in years past with all their cash and careful approach; we sold it long ago but wonder what did or didn't happen here ?

Q: I'm generally underweight energy and was thinking of averaging down on TOU and ENB and starting a position in CNQ.
I'm a bit hesitant with ENB.
Any concerns? Or anything I should be aware of?
Thanks,
Robert

Q: Hi, We own above Canadian banks, which makes up the financial sector of our portfolio.
On an YTD basis, interestingly, their performance has diverged significantly, with CM +7%, RY +2.5% and TD -9%. During past 30 days (reflecting impact of recent crisis in financial sector SVB/SB), these names have declined as follows : CM -7%, RY -8% and TD -17%. Does it mean that market is assigning higher risk to TD, relative to its peers ? Does it make one name more attractive than others, and if so why, if we wish to take advantage of the sizable decline in their share prices, and add for long term investment ?
Thank You

Q: I am looking at reconfiguring my newly established RRIF into the above equities with the 3 etf’s being 25% each with the remaining 5 stocks being the remaining 25%. What is your opinion of these stocks and portfolio composition? Am I being too cute ? Thanks. Derek.
Q: I know autos in general are "down" across manufacturers. What do you think of AAP ? At a 52 week low with a 5% dividend and a PE around 14x. How safe is the dividend, what is the debt load, and how safe is the stock overall ?
Q: I would appreciate your comments on AKE, an Australian lithium producer that trades on the TSE. It earns $1.05/year and has PE of 9.19. Revenue is growing rapidly and margin is 40%. Revenue is forecast to grow 16%/year. The Globe did a screen yesterday that showed the company 74% undervalued. Sounds too good to be true.
Q: Hello 5i Could you comment on Swiss Water as a investment . I think at one time they paid a dividend also.
Q: Southern seems to be getting hit harder than other gas producers. Is it just the small cap aspect or is there something else (apart from commodity prices)?
