I am interested in HBM and LUN for a three year hold.would you please reveal your thoughts on these two companies. I am mostly concerned about survivability and future prospects. Which one do you feel is the better value? Thank you.

Q: I glean the pundits sensing a capitulation in the energy stock pricing... as well perhaps with the price of crude. Having a 4 or 5 year 'level of patience', might you suggest this timing as a buying opportunity? If so, which Canadian companies would you suggest as opportune buys?

Q: Recent press releases from the company have argued that"a low oil price is good for NAT." According to what logic can this be so? Thanks.

Q: Good morning...I am currently down on majority of dividend paying companies (AD, EP.un,ENB,SIA,TD,CSH,HR.un,IPL,TD,SU,BNS, WSP)from ranging from 10% to 30%...I understand very turbulent market so I am more or less steady...I like the fact I can average about $2500 a month in dividends..while I wait it out..I understand we still may see further decline...however, if I am looking more at the continuation of a dividend stream over the next 12 to 18 months...waiting it out for a little market improvement..what positions would you add to ...top 5..can include new recommendations...ideally above 4%...no tax concerns...also read an article about loonie to .59 by year end...what impact could this have on the overall market on dividend paying stocks? Q: I see that AVO is setting up an Investor Rights provision in case of unsolicited takeovers. Maybe I'm a cynic, but I find a concern about shareholders from this company out of character, to say the least. I would love to see an unsolicited bid or an activist investor get involved right now. Is this for real, or are they just increasing the chocolate ration? I'd appreciate your opinion.

Q: Hi, although I have learned plenty since subscribing to your service about two years ago, iam now realizing that my portfolio consisting of about twlelve total stocks from your portfolio's, majority of which are growth stocks, that my beta is about two at least, Do u think I should rebalance or stay the course in this tough market? I can handle it but it is more difficult than I thought, I won't need the money for about five years, thanks?

Q: I own Bam.a Is it worthwhile to add bep for income or is one Brookfield company enough? I have a portfolio of 15 stocks and 5 ETFs,20% in US plus 15% GICs. I'm about to retire later this year.

Q: I have a question about Equity Financial Holdings . I thought for sure, that you would have covered this company, since it is praised by every analyst on BNN and since it meets one of your most important criteria - the beginning of a dividend.
Why is it not covered?

Q: Assuming the market recovers at some point, will CAD & anticipated lower rates cause banks to recover last on a relative basis from this point onwards?

Q: Is it a good time to add to a diversified portfolio during these volatile times ? I have a long term horizon with limited exposure to stocks curently but the decline since the summer has been bad (oil and commodity mainly but many other names as well). I guess i worry that we could be in for another 20% drop and i have a lack of confidence in the market at the present time. Your comments are appreciated... If time to add, should i add to energy and materials as well ? Thanks

Q: Sorry if this question comes in twice as I'm not sure it went through the first time.

In the past, your team has indicated that BNS was your favourite bank. Is this still the case, even though it has underperformed? I am considering taking a position in a bank as I have currently have CXI and EFN in my financials, and feel I am missing a bank as part of my portfolio. Am wondering which one I should take a position in (or perhaps ZEB).

Q: Re: James' question concerning Valener.

FYI. S&P significantly downgraded VNR's credit rating a few days ago. It has gone down three notches from BBB+ (investment grade) to BB+ ("junk" grade).

Q: I am 81 years old and need to cash in some of the following holdings. Forgetting allocations or other considerations, thinking only of which are most likely to do well in the next 2-4 years, would you please list them in the order in which you would sell, ending with those best kept if possible.

Q: Reviewed you question on the above and don't know whether you are aware or not but TD downgraded this today to a hold "Earnings Momentum Expected to Decelerate; Downgrading to HOLD
