I am looking to diversify my financial sector holdings. Do you have a preference between CIX and AIG. AIG is certainly cheaper at this point based on current earnings but what about future growth?
Q: Hi Peter, I want to add a small cap stock to my portfolio, I understand it is riskier to move into the small caps, but I am looking at a small position with with some shorter term (6 months to one year) growth potential. I am looking at MRE, AIS, LNR, and LSI as possibilities. Please give me your thoughts on these stocks, and which two you would consider a buy. Thanks!
Q: Good day 5i. I have been holding a fair number of Canexus shares, hoping for some signs of an uptick in price resulting from their expansion of rail storage and loadout facilities at Bruderheim. To date the stock price continues to drift lower. Can you please advise on the status of this project and whether it is prudent to remain patient, or just take my medicine and move on. Brian
Q: This is a statement not a question but I would appreciate you posting. I think the best thing I have learned from your research and advice is to not be afraid of purchasing a stock on your recommendations just because it has had a good run. I bought Paladin one week before the takeover announcement, and Constellation only one month ago, on your positive outlook for both stocks. Your advice looks forward based on what you think a stock will do, not what it has done. 5i Research is helping many people. Bill
Q: Peter and colleagues. First, I want to join the hallelujah chorus in thanking you for your wonderful tutorials and advice. Second, could I please have your opinion of Kelt Resources (KEL)? Thank you, Peter
Q: Good morning...quick question...in one of my self direct accounts ($100,000) I plan to mirror your portfolio...I understand we can't time the market but should I purchase all in one day or split over a period of 30days...Thanks
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
I'm a bit baffled by the continued strength of the share prices of two companies I've been following, Vermillion Energy and Arc Resources. If oil prices are soft currently (especially Canadian oil prices) and natural gas prices equally soft (with what appears to an abundance of supply in North America), why are the share prices of these companies continuing to advance? Are these stocks overbought and too expensive at these levels?
Many thanks,
Brian
Q: Hi, Peter.
I am trying to decide between Boyd Group (BYD.UN) and Western Forest (WEF) for inclusion in my grandson's RESP. May I please have your opinion?
Thanks,
Ed
Q: Any new thoughts on Merus Labs International (MSL) in light of the recent $1.6B Paladin Labs takeover? MSL is occasionally mentioned as having a similar business model to Paladin. 5i's answer to the previous inquiry about MSL mentions that it seems well managed, although its management team has been considered a potential negative by other market commentators. Would appreciate your insight on these 2 angles to MSL - thanks, Brad
Q: PennWest (PWT) has dropped a lot in the last couple days on high volume. I don't see any news that should cause this (concentrating on core areas should be positive).
Would you consider it a buy down hear at $9
