Q: I currently have approximately 2% of my retirement portfolio invested in Goldman Sachs Business Development Corporation Inc. (GSBD). I hold this investment primarily for the dividend income it generates. It has however been an absolutely terrible performer from a preservation of capital perspective over the past few years and every time it reports earnings it seems that the Net Asset Value per share has somehow dropped from the previously reported period. I am therefore considering switching out of GSBD and into Starwood Property Trust (STWD). i would value your opinion on that suggested trade.

If you might happen to feel that neither of these firms is a particularly advisable investment for anyone to hold then please don't be shy about saying so.

Thank you!

Q: I’d like to start a position in one or more income funds that offer a very high yield, but I’m not sure which ones to choose. As of Wednesday Oct 5th, these are the indicated yields I’ve found:

CLM 23.92%
PDBC 20.65%
SDIV 15.31%
QYLD 14.19%
RYLD 14.05%
XYLD 13.05%
BIGZ 11.01%
JEPI 10.94%
PDO 10.90%
PDI 10.79%
BXMT 10.38%
MPW 10.17%
STWD 9.84%
EIT.UN 9.42%
IDV 8.15%

Would you recommend any of these or do you have other suggestions? Are any of them too risky if the bear market deteriorates from here, or can they all be held long term? Are some of these yields too good to be true, like CLM and PDBC? Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: I have not seen any questions on Starwood for a while. It has a good yield. Is it a buy at these levels?
Thanks

Q: Hi,
Looking for a REIT with momentum, good growth, reasonable dividend at a fair price.
Would Starwood Property (stwd), Brixmor Property (brx) or Realty Income (o) fit the bill ? Or any other you think would better achieve the purpose ?
With many thanks,

Jacques, Mtl

Q: Hello,
I have owned Starwood Property Trust Inc (STWD) for a while, and it has been flat up to now. It provides a 9% yield.

Is this a buy, sell or hold stock? Especially since interest rates are rising. (I thought higher interest rates would benefit this company.) As I am seeing other stocks with better growth potential, I am wondering if this stock is worth holding onto.

Thank you for your help and for the service. Greatly appreciated.
