Q: Hi there,

I've been out of oil for a few years now. In your opinion is now the time to get back in? Is there legs behind the recent rally? I was looking at Yangarra and Parex - do you prefer one over the other? Or another name entirely?

Thank you!

Q: Hi 5i team - I have held Surge Energy for quite a long time and it has been a disappointing stock. Even with the lower oil and gas prices there are others that have at least held their own. Are there two or three similar companies that have had a better performance record and perhaps better upside. I am planning to sell Surge and buy something that has performed better if you think this is a sensible strategy. Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
Happy New year and thanks again for the great service. Grande West was supposed to report on Dec 19th 2017. I have been looking at news releases and have not seen any earnings from Grande West. Any ideas what is going on? In general, if a company is to release its earnings on a particular date and it delays the earnings date, what does it say about that company? Is there a site i can look at (other than company site) that provides exact release dates. What is your view on Greenspace Brands and Yangarra Resources. Yangarra has done well last year eventhough most oil stocks were down. Is their balance sheet better than most oil companies in Canada? Thanks again.

Q: I'm interested in investing in one small oil producer at the start up stage. My choice is down to YGR and VLE. I would appreciate your critique of these two companies in terms of growth potential left. Both companies have huge run ups recently and I would like to hear your expert's view on them. Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
Yangarra resources was going up while other oil stocks were going down. However, today Yangarra Resources barely moved much when other oil stocks surged given the news on OPEC production cut. Any comments? Also, Savaria surged a bit today. Was there any news? In general, when a particular stock stays within a narrow range when all the others in the sector are moving up alot, what does it mean for that particular stock? For example, today MedLeaf hovered around 1 percent range whereas the other cannibis stocks including the ETF HMMJ surged considerably. The same was true the day before when the cannibis stocks were down , MedLeaf stayed in the one percent range. Thank you.

Q: YGR is seemingly highly rated and has been up more than 200% this year already. Is it still a buy at this level (closed at $4.79 on Friday)? Energy stocks could be back in vogue and with every sector almost already fully priced, it may be their turn.

I have dedicated about 5% of my total capital for very short term (say, no more than a month) high risk investments. Right now I am holding ENB in this slot ( a result of my recent bottom fishing) and I would like to flip it for something else before the Enbridge media day in December. Just in case Enbridge may say something untoward and jeopardizes its pledged dividend increases, or lower its guidance for 2018. After all this company had missed its earning targets for about six quarters. I could lose my modest ENB gain so far, and perhaps more.

Would YGR be a better choice for a bigger short term gain than ENB? Thanks for your take on this idea.

Q: i own both yangarra and surge, they both announced results in the last days and they were excellent on every metric, they are making tons of money even with oil between 42-48, and yet the stocks do squat.why, is this just sentiment towards oil, does the market feel oil is going to 30-35, do investors fear electric cars, i just do not get it. dave
