Q: A question about Purpose ETF (ex; PDF); in particular the corporate class funds. The implication is that even highly taxed interest income (or foreign dividend) can be distributed as a capital gain (less tax). I was under the impression that this would change and be now off limits ?
Thanks
Thanks

In my U.S. portfolio i am looking to add a U.S. Insurance company. Out of the 4 companies they highlighted, which one would you recommend for growth, and value?
Thanks
Stephen

Q: First best to the season to you.
I was wondering about your general thoughts on Shaw, now that the Wind purchase had rattled the stock price. Is this good for Shaw in the future, and is the current price one to consider it a buy now?
Is the duel stock structure a big hindrance to the growth of the stock price?
As always, thanks..

Q: Hi,
Just wondering if this fund is more favorable during current market conditions this past year(flat)? How would it perform in a very bullish (interest rates rising) market? I'm considering it for a long term hold and for it's distributions. I look forward to your comments, Thank you.

Q: Season's Greetings 5i team.
As you can see, I have a hard time just holding a few energy names.
I'm down on all of them (gee, ya think? :)
CNQ
CPG
FRU
SU
ERF
HSE
WCP
PEY
ARX
CEU
I want to have exposure for when it does turn around.
What would you keep? What would you sell without even thinking twice?
Thanks

Q: Do you think it is worth the risk to buy any dividend paying energy stocks at this time. Would need to have a good balance sheet and have potential for some significant upside to offset the risk. Please list the equities in order that you would acquire? Would you buy a full or part position
Wish the 51 research team a merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2016
Thanks for your service David

Q: I'm confused by the latest report. CXI has had pending approval for a Schedule 1 Bank since before your first report Dec.1, 2014. If OSFI is doing the approving and now with a new Federal Govt. the process could take longer are you saying that this is somehow a political decision and not a bureaucratic one? What is the normal length of time for approval and if it has stretched on this long does that increase prospects for denial? It seems to me the takeover of CFF Bank by HCG in Oct. has been a huge ho-hum with stock down 20% since, so just how much upside has CXI vs. the potential further downside? Thanks, J.
Q: Hi Peter,
I have noticed in a number of occasions when the stock.20,50 and 200 day moving average intersect at the same time it is a bullish signal and the stock has just taken off. What is your take on this one.
Paul
