Q: Hi, share price has declined to $33.86, from a high of $40.88, only a few weeks ago.
This company has a very low share count of 10.9 mln shares with a float of just 7.3 mln. Fairly large holding by insiders/institutions - 35-40%. Decent dividend yield 3.90%. Company's revenue is almost equally distributed between US and Canada. There has also been some nominal insider buying reported recently. Is it just the market volatility and illiquid nature of stock or any other reason for recent softness, in your view? Should we buy/add for dividend and growth ? Thanks

Q: I have Richard's packaging in my portfolio the past 3 yrs.....Its a Very reliable stock, pays a good dividend. Great for my portfolio. I can put this stock in a drawer and not worry about the day to day price fluctuations.....

Can you provide at least one or two sleep at night stocks like RPI.UN I can stash away in my portfolio.......Can be either U.S or Canadian.

Thanks

Q: Further to your answer on the packaging companies, i have owned all three and done well across the board. I was planning on consolidating my stocks and reducing by one. Several months ago you recommended to drop WPK of the 3. You have rated them slightly differently on this latest question . Can you tell me why - is this a valuation, size or other call? As you can see, i have been dragging my feet on reducing only because i am trying not to sell my winners. I do like CCL.b the best as i can hold it on the us side of my portfolio and collect the dividend in US$.
Thanks as always

Q: What are your top 3 choices for exposure to the packaging industry? Looking at a long term hold with some growth and strong dividend. Thanks

Q: I am challenged to know what to do about my shares in Richards. My ACB is down to about $3 (out of pocket costs are even lower) so the dividends are almost free money now, and as I approach retirement, I love the cash flow. Despite selling some shares over the last couple of years, it is again 50% over what I would consider a full position. Should I just put it away and enjoy it or sell some/all and put the money into something with a more robust or safer dividend? (BTW, I also own CCL.B but not for as long and I don't have nearly as big a gain on that one.)

Also I can't find any news to explain its recent gains. Are you aware of anything I've missed.

Thanks for your help,
Dave

Q: Hi there,
I am an investor who generally does not like single company risk so i often end up with small groupings of stocks in the same line of business. Hence I owned these three in the packaging business for a fairly long period of time and done well in all three. Can you explain to me which of these business is likely to do better going forward and if you had to drop one which would it be. (i am thinking Winpak)

Thanks for all you do.

Q: Hi there,
Just doing some portfolio re-balancing as my portfolio seems to have gotten off track a bit lately. I am running with about a 22% weight in industrials but have CCL and richards Packaging classified there. I always struggle where to classify these two - more suited to materials or do you have an alternate classification. i am extremely underweight in Consumer Discretionary. Any recommendations? i have been reluctant to buy anything in this space lately!

Q: 5i has pointed to RPI.un as a way to play the online shopping and package shipping theme. I’ve been very happy with this high-yielding, thin-trading stock since late 2013, but am wondering if there is any particular reason it is up sharply today. I couldn’t find any news and trading volume is not offering any clues.

Thanks for the excellent service and your useful insights.
