Q: Peter, could I please get your take on Peyto Exploration (Ticker PEY)? They recently became a white night for Open Range Energy and am curious about your opinion on their financial strength, the quality of their assets, the sustainability of the dividend, and anything else you wish to provide. I hold Open Range currently and now it appears I will be holding PEY if this deal goes. Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter,
Love the Q&A section. Any thoughts on Orko Silver? They'll be coming out with their resource estimate shortly. I'm hoping another JV will result or a take-over from a larger producer. I understand their property in Mexico contains large deposits. Thanks very much.

Q: What are your thoughts on Sherritt (S)? Its Ambatovy mine is coming on line imminently. Does the stock get repriced higher when that happens?
Q: Hello Peter, where do I find the meanings of your ratings scale. Brian
Q: Hi 5iResearch:
I'm interested in investing in stock(s) that trade on the TSX (or TSX Venture) that has a good chunk of their revenues (>40%) coming from emerging markets (i.e. Asia, Africa and/or Latin America). It's hard to find out this information without going through all the company reports and even then it's not always obvious and explicit. Can you help by pointing out a few companies that are expanding in those regions that you know?
Thanks.

Q: Can I get your thoughts on Aurcana AUN. They do seem to be making the right moves to ramp up production, although not without some controversial decisions being made.
I am thinking the timing is right now with the new mine in Texas in production, La Negra production upgrade completed and pm's starting to firm up. Or is there another small cap silver producer you prefer?

Q: Hi Peter: Two questions: Do you have an opinion on Pinecrest Energy (PRY)? Secondly, by now hopefully most of your readers have about $20,000 in their TFSA. Are you wiling to entertain the idea of making some recommendations of 2-4 stock mini-portfolios for TSFAs based on the investor "types" and the stocks on which you have purchased research to date?
Q: Further question on POE.Is it likely that POE's share price will increase as the distribution date approaches? Is it usually good policy to sell in advance of the distribution or take the distribution and retain the stock, all things being equal? Thank you.
Q: Peter,
Do you think BBY will eventually be taken private? If not does it deserve some attention on its own fundamentals keeping in view the switch from store to online sales

Q: Hi Peter,Would the depressed price of (AGT)represent an attractive entry point.
Q: Hi Peter, the million dollar question, does Rim survive? Is it worth investing in at these levels for any reason, a takeover or a long term hold in the hopes it will come back or could it be another Nortel. Would you start a position in it? Thanks, Nick
Q: Any concern with continuing to hold Atlantic power?

Q: Could I please get your comments on Counsel (CXS-T) as a long term hold. It is easy to get the positives (I just read their latest report) so I'd especially appreciate any contrary or cautionary comments. Thanks.
Q: I would appreciate your opinion on C-Com Satellite Systems.
Thanks,

Q: Today Mart resources announced a 10 cent dividend to holders on July 23rd and the intent to pay a 5 cent quarterly dividend. Share price at the start of the day was $1.05.
The dividend is on top of their proven reserve increase of approx 40% (16% in dec 11 then just recently another 24%) with no decline in production. This gave them a 10% discount before taxes value of almost 1 billion dollars.
Current shipping of approx 12000bpd. Wells that flow in excess of 50000bpd.
The announcement of a crude purchase agreement with Shell so they can get the pipeline in and expand capacity in order to take advantage of their massive flow rates.
Fantastic tax breaks until they're into 2014, then still excellent taxes to encourage greater field development.
Very low cost production which is producing an oil that sells at a marked premium.
And ANOTHER well that is supposed to soon be announced which is drilling to test brand NEW oil bearing sands which were found under a gas layer which is itself below the currently producing oil bearing sands. Never mind if they can get the gas condensate to market.
Do you think MMT's dividend announcement is the right direction? I like it because they have oil, it's the expanded capacity they need which is coming. So it's a bit of a waiting game. As long as the cash flow remains enormous why not pay a dividend from 12000bpd until they reach 40000, 50000, 60000bpd in a new pipeline. It sure takes some of the edge off for me as an investor from Mart operating in Nigeria.
