Q: Hi Peter and Team,
You have mentioned in previous answers, the reasons for the current price drop in AYA. How long do you think it will take for the stock price to recover? Thanks!
Q: Because of recent tax rules, US citizens are restricted in the amount of money they can keep in other countries unless they have $$$ to pay international tax accountants.
Neither can they cost effectively own ETFs, REITS, trusts, mutual funds, etc.--again due to arcane rules and draconian penalties for non-compliance.
Therefore, I can buy only a small number of stocks in Canada, and I would hope to hold them for long periods for fewer tax reporting complications from buying and selling.
Would you see enough potential, without overdoing risk, for a portfolio of such stocks, totaling no more than 120k to purchase? Could a yield of 3 to 5% be achievable?
On top of all this, there is no telling when new rules may be composed that make owning ANY stocks in Canada prohibitive, so I have to be prepared to sell whenever they make such a change. For example, we had to sell our TFSAs and ETFs swiftly upon being alerted to the current restrictions.
Q: I'd like your opinion (awesome service BTW)... I'm looking for long-term equity gains with not too much risk. What would be your top (five?) picks out of: HCG, BNS, ATD.B, AYA, AVO, SGY, TOU, WCP, BRX, CIX, SYZ, CSN, ALA, PPL, HR.UN. :)
What is your opinion about CNTY (Century Casino)?
They have 2 casinoes in Canada and seem to be growing quite nicely.
Earnings next week.
Great service you are providing for investors.

Any thoughts on the recent decline in Martinrea? The Q3 results seemed pretty solid and the stock had a bit of a run up, but is back down to it's pre-results price. Wondering if it's worth holding this one for the long-term or would you recommend switching into Linamar?
Q: Hi Peter and 5i. Starbucks(SBUX) just lost an arbitration ruling and has to pay Kraft $2.7 Billion. I've been waiting to buy SBUX (for a long term hold) on a pullback, which is likely to happen from this ruling. Do you think this is a good opportunity at this time or could there be additional long term implications from this ruling? Thanks!

Q: DHX recently came out with a financing at $3.60. It traded above $4 prior to that announcement. How long would you expect this financing to suppress the share price? Thanks.
Q: ISign Media ($0.22) (ISD.V) is a tiny venture Co with an interesting data collecting and advertising model. Its share price doubled in the last 3 days on the news of private placement at $0.30 with warrant at $0.45 and another contract for installation of their data collecting antennas.
Here is a quote (Co PR):...Until the recent announcement by Apple of iBeacon and its latest iOS7 introduction, iSIGN has been virtually alone for the past five years in promoting Bluetooth® proximity broadcasting to mobile devices while capturing people's responses, with its original Bluetooth® IMS device, followed by its Smart Antenna with both Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi capabilities and recently announced Smart Player. Apple's announcement has led to an instant appreciation and mass awareness of Bluetooth® technology...
Do you feel this Co is worth a closer look?
Thank you
Q: What are your criteria when you consider a stock is expensive versus cheap?
- Or do you compare the company P/E to its industry peers (i.e.: Financials, Tech, Consumer Staples, Oil/Gas, etc.)?
- Or do you compare the company P/E ratio to the company growth rate (Revenue, Earnings/share, Cash flow) from the previous year's quarter?
- Or something else?
