Q: Hi 5iTeam,
my question is a follow-up on a recent question raised by Ted regarding potential US estate tax liability on US situs investment. I remember a few years ago when Gordon Reid was on Market Call, he commented that even if one's US situs investment exceeds threshold of forty some US$ (I forgot the exact threshold amount) when one passes away, there will be no US estate tax payable unless the total value of the deceased's estate is over the exemption amount of US$11.4M. Would you please confirm if this is still the case.
Cheers,

Q: I hope all is well. I view your response to questions every day and see that questions on US stocks is rapidly increasing. Maybe you should create another site called 4iResearch for US stocks but you can still own them i.e., 5i minus Independence. My questions is about VEEV. They have an impressive list of clients. Can you explain more please why you like it so much? Thanks again as usual. Dan

Q: A month ago, Tom asked a 5i Office straw poll: What % cash is your group holding in their personal accounts. I am curious if you could provide an update on your response:
It averages out to near zero. A few have 10% to 15% cash, but this is offset by several using margin. Many are expecting a second drop, but of course the more expecting this the more it is priced in. We continue to think the market needs to 'chill' a bit. Things are not THAT great, and the expectations for a V recovery are high, and it may not be as fast as investors think. We think slow buying remains a good strategy over holding lots of cash, however.

I ask as I was expecting the market to chill but continues to move higher. I am about 15% cash right now and was wondering if I should keep slowly deploying.

Thanks for your excellent service!

Q: Hi 5i,

I have another question on TSLA. Do equity investor analysts look at future potential earnings when evaluating a company ? TSLA has over 1 million cars on the road (and more every day). I believe the majority have not purchased Full Self Driving, which is an additional $10,500 option ($cdn). If and when it is released, if a significant number, lets just say 10% of the current owners purchase FDS, the revenue to Tesla is VERY significant. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Q: I have been following the cirque du soleil story in the news.
I was surprised to see how much say the existing shareholders seem to have in the restructuring process. I thought the lenders were always in the driver seat in case of insolvency. Can you please provide your comments and clarify what s going on there. I understand it is not a public company. I just find the topic interesting. Thank you!
