Q: Hello.

What would be the impact to Russel Metals if they experienced a decrease in demand for their Energy Products sector? Do you think management would 'adjust' well? Do you see this as a real risk?

Looking at their annual reports & their 3 main segments from 2005 to 2014, revenue has declined from Metals Service and Steel Distributions, while revenue from Energy Products has increased steadily from 23% of revenue in 2005 to 46% in 2014 (Q1-Q3).

Regards, David

Q: I've been checking my sector weighting and find that I'm over weight in financial sector if I include my REIT's. I'm underweight in industrials and materials although I'm not sure I have categorized my stocks correctly. Is there a website that categorizes which stocks are in which sector? I'm thinking of selling some REITs and buying TCK.B and RUS to even things out. Does that actually do what I'm trying to do? If not would please suggest other stocks I should look at.
Thank you for your great service over the last year. I'm looking forward to following your reports and Q&A in the New Year.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

Thanks for the on-going terrific insights and stock suggestions.

Given the aging infrastructure issues (pipes, electricity etc) that seems to be facing all governments and in particular the Ontario government can you suggest some ideas (which stocks are best positioned to profit over the next many many years)

Happy Holidays to everybody at 5iresearch and keep up the great work in 2014!

Q: Hello 5i team. You last commented on Russell Metals (RUS) a couple of months ago, when it was in decline. Its price has continued to drop, including over 2% today in a rising market. Just wondered if the fundamentals had changed or if it's still just going through a bit of a bad spell? What would the catalyst be to turn things around?

Thanks as always for your valued input.
Tom
