Q: Hi 5I
If I'm not mistaken, previous answers regarding DHX include a positive view on management. Something along the lines of "they have done this ... building a solid company... before". With recent news of the management shakeup, do you still hold a similar view, have the key managers changed or are the ones you considered sound still around?

Thanks
Mike

Q: Six million shares traded on Friday, almost all in the last 20 minutes. Price spiked 7%, then fell back. This is about 30x typical trading volume. Did you hear any rumours that might account for this? The increased focus on content after the Fox-Disney deal has put those with a library in focus. Fine Capital touted DHX as a potential $30 stock last May (when it was at $6). There was speculation on Stockhouse that Fine was buying CI's remaining shares. If any of this is true, would you see Fine's position as a positive? Do they have a reputation for astute calls?

Q: I sold Dhx.b for tax loss selling and maybe repurchasing after 30 days. However, the high debt load does concern me. Do you have any alternatives in the consumer discretionary sector at this time. Not looking for a trade but rather a long term hold.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you at 5i.

Q: I have a question about DHX and specifically DHX.DB.

The debentures are trading around $94 and have a coupon of 5.875% coming due in 2024.

Do you think the company is sound enough to be around in 2024 assuming no take over?

Would these debentures be a good investment for the more speculative part of a fixed income portfolio? If not, any suggestions?

Regards
John

Q: In the December 5th, 2017 press release, DHX stated that:

"in connection with its strategic review process, it has received Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) approval to delay the holding of its annual general meeting to a date which will be no later than February 27, 2018."

In your experience, does this imply news is to come? or is it just a normal proceeding for companies in this situation?

Further, would there be any compelling case to obtain a position in this stock after tax-loss selling season?
Thanks!

Q: DHX Media. I have $4,200 invested into DHX'B from almost 2 yrs ago, in my TFSA accnt. I am 50% down at the moment. Your advice: should I hang on in hope, or sell - throwing $2,100 away but allowing the other $2,100 to be put into something else with hope it will do better? A double would be necessary just to offset the loss. Realistically that could take a couple of years to achieve, might not get there, might not be much of a winner at all. Meantime where will DHX.B likely be in 2 years? Not sure when it reports but if a sell then before or after reporting? Its current value represents 5% of my TFSA accnt.

Q: I have held these loss stocks in my well-diversified portfolio for many years. I am willing to wait for a turnaround and do not need the cash. Which if any would you recommend selling now if you consider holding them to be a lost cause. Thank you
