Q: Novo Resources seems to be well-positioned after selling its New Found Gold stake and retiring its Sprott obligations with the proceeds. The treasury
also looks to be in good shape to facilitate moving ahead with development
of some of the massive Pilbara land holdings as well as other endeavours.
Could you please give your outlook for the company, including a ballpark
estimate for the carrying costs of the big land package in Australia? Thank you.

Q: Gold has been out of flavour during these inflationary times. Some say it’s because of Btc/Eth others say it’s because of rising rates etc.. there seems to be many conflicting factors. All of which are not clear. Can you give your take on gold and provide you 3 fave mid and small cap names. Thx.

Q: Rio Tinto has offered $40 to buy the remainder of the company that they don't already hold, while the market price seems to be holding just above $37 (as I write this), almost a 10% difference. If TRQ rejects this offer, do you think Rio will up their offer for a second time, make a hostile bid, or just walk away? I know very little about the mining industry, and am mainly looking at the numbers - would you buy some TRQ hoping for a capital gain, or just stay away?
Thank-you

Q: Hi 5i. I am wondering if you can clear something up about the proposed takeover of Yamana by Gold Fields. The terms of the sale are that each Yamana share will be replaced by 0.6 Gold Fields shares. Immediately prior to the announcement on May 31, 2022, Gold Fields ADSs were trading at USD $12.20, but slumped immediately and closed at USD $8.66 on August 19th, a drop of 29%. At the time of the takeover announcement, the premium to Yamana's value was stated to be 33.8%. Now, given current share prices, I make it out to be only 9%. I can see nothing in the press releases to indicate the purchase price is adjustable, so isn't this deal now much worse for Yamana shareholders than initially proposed?

There was talk of Gold Fields' shareholders rejecting the deal because it was too rich, but I think now it would be Yamana's shareholders who should be turning it down. Any insight?

Q: Thank you for great service.

I am not a gold bug but tend to hold some for downturns in the market/economy. I am up about 20% over 2 years in two mid-cap positions and down up to 60% in three juniors. Appreciating economic growth (or expected growth) is not the only factor impacting gold prices, why are we not seeing gold run in this environment? What factors will influence positive momentum in the coming 1-2 years?

Q: Some time back, I came to the thesis that with all the financial stimulus, inflation would develop and that gold would rise. Well, we did have inflation but gold declined. Each of these 3 names may have had their own issues, I am down between 20 - 50 % on them. What is your view on gold going forward? What is your view on each of these 3 equities? Hold or sell, and why? Thank you for your excellent service.
