Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Caledonia's share price seems to have plateaued somewhat since at least November 2018, trading mostly between $7 and $8. I've done well by it but am growing impatient. It is a relatively small holding in my TFSA. I'm wondering if I'm better off selling and investing the proceeds elsewhere. (I have three other mining holdings.) As always, I welcome your insights.

Q: What is your take on the suspension of dividend, does this change your generally positive long term outlook? Looking to balance Gold exposure in my portfolio due to the strong run of KL, do you see MUX as a viable option? What are your thoughts on management, debt and safety of their operating jurisdictions?

Q: This may be out of your realm of expertise but I've been following this co. for a while as it had announced a plan to do a non dilutive financing using an asset backed crypto token. It seems to be working as their latest financials show nearly $10 million in their accounts. I believe they have approx 61 million shares. Is it common for a micro cap to trade below cash value? I believe cash alone would make it worth around .16 ish. Would you be able to look into it. Thx

Q: Interested in your thoughts on Liberty Gold as an investment. The company has a number of projects in the U.S. But is also has two projects in Turkey. Does the political situation in Turkey have any potential impacts on its projects there. How does Liberty compare as an investment to other juniors like Victoria Gold for example.
Thanks as always.

Q: With regards to cobalt prices, its difficult to get a handle on the scarcity/abundance of the metal. It was supposed to be scarce 2-3 years ago, now it seems every region has some and the prices have drifted off. Co $40-$14 yoy.
So is it scarce like quality gold mines, or abundant like cannibis grow ops (all of us can grow four plants)?
Conversely, lithium prices have gone up historically.
First, since its hard to get accurate info, have I got the price movement right? Then, is it better to invest in lithium companies or cobalt companies going forward with a view of increased electric car sales in the future?
May I have your insight on the space?

Q: I looked at insider trading on Canadian Insider web site. Between Oct 18-Jan 21st 2019, insider buying is huge. I see directors buying 1.6 million shares. Others, Joseph Crumb 3.4 M. Chiabra Tommasso also director 2.0 M.
Roy Sebag CEO 6 trades for 525 thousand shares. Also for XAU , he purchased in 5 trades 863 thousand shares. I do not normally check insider trading activity, but this seems out of the ordinary. Please verify my numbers. If exact, have you seen such large insider buying before ?
If so, would you recommend taking a position in Mene.
thanks for your help.
