Q: Boardwalk announced another lousy quarter! Generally, real estate markets move with a lag to the economy of about 6 to 9 months. Do you think Q4 could be a trough for Boardwalk? I am accumulating shares at this level. I think it is a good entry point for a long-term investor to add multi-family properties (defensive segment) as a good valuation. They are using this opportunity to acquire new builds and renovate their existing portfolio as well.

Q: With the takeover now approved at $40 cash or possibly some combination of cash and bell shares,why is MBT only trading in the $39.45 range? Am I missing something here ,or is there a strong probability of picking up 50 cents by loading up on MBT? The deal closes in roughly a month.

Q: RRSP question: Assume I am an Alberta resident with $0 income in 2017. How much can I withdraw from from my RRSP account while maintaining a 0% tax rate (disregard withholding tax)? 2017 Basic Alberta Personal Amount is $18,690 at 10% and Federal amount is $11,635 at 15%. And, can I make this withdrawal now (Feb. 17) for 2017 or does the March 1st RRSP cutoff date apply for withdrawals as well? Thanks.

Q: Based on my own accounts it seems that bond ETFs are negatively correlated with stocks, on the whole. That's not surprising, but do you have any numbers on this?

Q: BCI is about the only B+ or better stock in your coverage universe that I do not own.

Currently it appears to be quite oversold .... and does carry a small but respectable dividend.

Q: Late January you commented that Open Text was trading at 15 times earnings or so...however I cannot figure how you calculated this.

Q: Can you recommend 3 good names in the financial sector (any sub-sector) that are a good value? Banks seem to have had a bit of a run with the rising interest rate and deregulation talk and they seem a bit pricey. Would you wait for a pull back or is the run up justified and sustainable? Anything else look good today?
