Q: Many analysts are now advising building up positions in the lifecos in anticipation of a Dec fed raise. Obviously, these names have performed well over the last month and this is somewhat built into the valuations. Fortunately, I had sizeable positions in PWF and MFC before the run. Trying to buy more of any on a pullback but this may not be possible. Would you advise adding to any of these three names at these levels?

Q: Hi,
I am retired and 63 years old.
I have 50K in ALTAMIRA HIGH-INTEREST CASHPERFORMER - F
NBC200 in my RSSP waiting to be deployed. I will not need that money for the next ten years. I told my broker that this investment was not even keeping up with inflation.
He suggested to buy CUF.un (20000$) and PWF (30000$).
Would you think of better alternatives?
Thank you

Q: I currently own PWF and down 18% and it is in a non rrsp account.I can write this loss with a gain in another stock in which I am over weight and wondered if SLF or FSZ would be a better replacement for PWF? I own no other stock in the insurance sector but own BNS and TD for the financial sector.

Q: I have held a position in PWF for several years and have been disappointed recently. I fear it is collateral damage to low interest rates and too much exposure to that dinosaur of the 21st century - the mutual fund. Maybe it is time for me to move on but think there may be some link between PWF and Wealthsimple. I think the last mentioned may be a privately held recent start-up in the fin-tech space. Could you help me , please. Thank you for all you do.

Q: Higher rates are finally here. Since the guessing is over, time to invest in companies with insurance revenue. Could you rank these stocks from "profits the most from the rate hike plan" to "profits the least": PWF, POW, SLF, MFC? If there is too little difference for your taste, could you use the valuations and dividends to help the ranking. Thank you.

Q: May I have your comments on PWF's latest earnings report? They seem to be doing better with Pargesa or are Pargesa's earning increase all due to one time items? What do you think is better going forward PWF or VIG? I am looking to increase my US exposure but PWF has a better dividend and seems to be generating more growth than before. Part of the attraction with VIG is if the Can $ keeps dropping against the US $.
