Q: Hi Peter and 5i: Do you have any near to medium-term concerns about Genworth MI Canada (MIC) or Home Capital Group (HCG)? I have over 25% gains in both since buying them last late spring/early summer. They are each 3% current positions in the portfolio. I also have a couple of Canadian banks but I am not overweight financials relative to the broad market. They are in an RSP so there would be no tax concerns related to selling anything. Is this a case where it makes sense to keep letting the winners run? Would it make sense to add to either of them with new RSP money? Thanks.
Q: Is Cervus Equipment(CVL-T) a company you have looked at? Interests in 57 agricultural, industrial and transportation dealerships in Western Canada,N.Z. and Australia. EPS is $1.48 and yield almost 4%. Wondering if it is an over-looked stock like K-Bro Linen?
Thanks, Harold.
Q: Hello
I'm trying to learn more about how companies work. When a company issues shares to raise capital can the shares simply put up for sale on the open market or are they always sold to an investment/finance house? If the former, does the company, at time of issue, have to specify the price of the shares or can it, so to speak, play the market? I'm trying to get a hold on the "dilutive" aspect of share issuance given that shares aren't traded based on their supply (but only their supply at a particular price. Thank you.
Q: Hi, Peter, and thank you for your amazing service to smaller, retail investors.
I am trying to decide between Cineplex (CGX) and H&R REIT (HR.UN)as a possible long-term (3-7 years)purchase. Although they are an 'apples and oranges' comparison would you please give me your preference or are they both overvalued with their higher P/E ratios?
Thanks.
Ed
Q: What are your thoughts on Keyera Corp, should one be looking to sell it here, it has had quite a run. What do you feel regards it's valuation, does it justify its growth profile?
Q: Hey guys, great job, just renewed my membership. Any thoughts on TBE(Twin Butte) given the issues they are having with some of their heavy oil properties near Lloydminster. Thanks, Chuck
Q: TBE, Twin Butte, given the news release with the operational problems and guidance what are your thoughts? Would there be much more downside, or would it be oversold now? I had planned on holding for a couple of years.
I have followed PM (TSX Venture) for a while and planed to buy the stock for long term holding. Its main business looks steady in a non-cyclical area. The company raised its dividend last December.
Do you think PM's current price is a good entry point?
Q: Peter and 5i staff: Any thoughts on PLZ.V Plazacorp Retail Properties. It looks like this company has a business model similar to FCR First Capital Realty. Do you like this space? Would you recommend one over the other for a long term holding? Thank you.
Q: Hi 5I staff;thanks in advance for all your help.St Andrews Goldfields [SAS] seems to doing very well with production,96000 ounces last year. What are your opinions on this company?

Q: Recent news on ATP indicates sale of some Florida property (January 31, 2013). Is this good for ATP? Should we still hold for the dividend with better prospects in the future for it?

Q: Thank you for the excellent site! When looking for yield within an RSP is there an advantage to look at income rather than dividends? If so what vehicle would you suggest to work that advantage?
Thanks
