Q: I purchased some shares of Martin Rea (MRE) some time ago then purchased about 80% more when there began issues with the Board. My shares are now up by about 60% reflecting, I believe, the resolution of the fight within the Board. When I compare MRE to Magna, I see that MRE is essentially flat over the past year whereas MGA is up about 50%. Since the 50% for Magna is reflected to some degree in its higher PE ratio than MartinRea’s, is it reasonable to expect that MRE still has some opportunities to increase in value at a faster pace than Magna? I have no plans to sell my MRE because of the potential catchup of PE ratio unless you feel that I should be exchanging the MRE for Magna recognizing the quality of Magna versus MRE. My percentage of MRE is only about 2-3% of my entire portfolio. At this time in the auto business cycle would you recommend me increasing the percentage to the 5% range or stay cautious. If you recommend I should buy more again which of the two (or others?) would you recommend? As always, I highly respect your opinion and recommendations even if I don’t always follow them.

Q: I have owned Enghouse (ESL) for several months and while it has not shown any price growth I know that you are quite high on the stock. However, you seem to equally like Evertz (ET) for many of the same reasons you like ESL but given that ET pays a healthy dividend , I was wondering if I should switching from ESL to ET.
Looking forward to your insight.

Q: Surge Energy has been VERY strong over the last week while the rest of the oil stocks have been relatively weak. Any rumours and news that might be causing this?
Q: I would appreciate your comments on Espial Group's (ESP) earnings released this morning. They seem very good to me and I am considering adding to my current small holding. Thank you, Peter
Q: re: ET Evertz
Your updated analysis please since your last comment June 12 and... any additional insights into a possible take over?

Q: Do you know anything about Kane Biotech - KNE? It seems like some very good news today:

Q: Peter; Could you comment on the DHX trading volume , in particular today's at 7.2 million? Thanks. Rod
Q: Any reason why MRC is down lately? Is this a good time to buy more? Thank you very much.
Q: Hello Peter,
Below is an extract from S"E"D"I" showing an officer of Enghouse being short 20,000 shares of the company. He is long 30,000 options but it seems strange that an officer would actually sell his companies shares short. Not a big short position but still strange in my opinion. Any comment on the short position, and any thoughts on the merit of adding to an initial ESL position at this time. The other holdings in this area are AVO and CSU.
Many thanks.

Q: As a comment regarding becoming a portfolio analyzing service for subscribers in the future I fear that if/when that happens you will not have the time to address the multitude of questions on this site. And as a result the great service and value here will diminish some.
I often wish people would simply read the questions and answers here and then manage their own ports but human nature for most people is to want someone else to do it for them.

Q: Cramer: I am sure the first "Cramer" comment was well intended and sincere.
But clearly a number of other folks disagree with the need for a Canadian Cramer. I am in the latter camp having tracked many of Cramer's favorites over the years using Globe Investor Gold. Since he has recommended hundreds of stocks I have tended to focus on the ones where he has been over the top - provided the most compelling reasons inlcuding detailed charts - and of course rung the bell, blown the horn, uttered the words "Booyah" many many times, etc. etc. etc.
The performance of my Cramer "paper - portfolio" has been terrible - especially compared to the 5i portfolios and highly rated stocks. Recently Cramer's audience size has cratered dramatically - to the point where the numbers are embarrasing for him and the network.
It would seem that his "customers" have realized that they too are wasting their time and money.
Bottom line here: Beware of Cramer suggestions; and 5i - you are great as is and please don't become Cramer-like. I enjoy making money thanks to you and not losing it as I would have if I had actually bought into his hype.
Cramer reminds me of a mutual fund guy I met years ago whose focus was on getting customers to "like him" as opposed to impressing them with his record of success in helping other clients grow their money. Quite the showman, probably a nice guy and a great person to have a beer with - but not manage my family's money!

Q: CNR - results and future look good but is it becoming overvalued?
Q: I look forward to the day when you can offer individual portfolio reviews. Do you have a time horizon ?
I'm sure many of your subscribers would echo my comment.
