Q: I have received various answers from other people with regard to the following question. Would it be possible for you to give an example for the following questions. Is it better to buy US stock in Can $ or to buy an ETF (hedged to Can $) if the Can $ goes from .95 to .85 over time? What happens if US share is purchased in Can$ and sold in Can$ if $ goes from .95 to .85? Would it be better to open a US $ account, purchase in US$ and sell in US $ if $ goes down? Thanks for your help. I will put my faith in your answer!

Q: Hello, can you please comment on the indexed investment funds offered by most banks - Guaranteed capital with capped stock market upside (from what I see, usually 2 year + term). Would you know if there is a lot of fees within these products ? Do you really get a good share of the stock market upside ? Would it be wise to use it in the fixed income portion of a portfolio given the low yield environment and possible increase in interest rates. Thank you and Happy Canada Day to all.

Q: Hi 5i! I have been a long time holder of Manulife (MFC). Now with the prospect of rising interest rates, insurers are back in favour. Would you recommend holding on to MFC or making the switch to Sunlife (SLF). If not Sunlife, which would be your preferred insurer?

I am slowly turning over my portfolio to 5i's covered stocks and/or model portfolio!
