Q: I'm adding to my energy holdings and was considering Cardinal Energy. What is your current risk/reward view of the company? I also own CPG, WCP, BTE, RMP and Surge.

Q: Hi Peter,
In preparing for the eventual oil recovery, what would be your top 3 names in the sector right now for capital appreciation and medium risk (i.e. survival during this down turn)? I assume WCP would be included since it is held in the model portfolio?
Thanks for the great service!
Angelo

Q: Had a look at this today. Was surpirsied to see a yield just under 6%. I thought it had been marketed on the basis of about a 4% yield. I don't see our interest rates going anywhere for a while. Is this not a buy here? Can they grow dividend at all or is that doubtful?
Thanks
John

Q: Hi,
I believe oil will rally into the spring. I am considering buying Penn West Energy or Baytex for a quick bounce and selling it in the spring. Which one would you prefer?
Thanks for your time

Q: I use the RBC Direct Investing "Analyze my holdings by asset mix" option to re-balance my portfolio. Currently it is telling me that my Energy weighting is 22%. But I believe that some of the stocks they consider "energy" are really "utilities".
1. Specifically the stocks I consider to be Utilities are: ALA-ENB-IPL-TRP-PPL. Am I correct?
2. Similarly, the holdings that I consider "Energy" are : ARX-FRU-VET-WCP-SPB-ENF. Would you agree with these as well?
Thanks for your help in working through this very important process.

Q: Good morning 5i, any comments on SPB's report? Still comfortable with it in the income portfolio? Thank you
Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,
POE's $0.40 special distribution has left me a little confused as to when we should expect payment. I've included text below from their February 1, 2016 press release:
Key dates are:
-- The record date to determine shareholders entitled to receive the
distribution will be February 10, 2016
-- Due bill trading will commence on February 8, 2016 (two trading days
before the record date, so that trades settling after the record date
have due bills attached)
-- The payment date for the distribution will be February 16, 2016
-- The ex-distribution date will be February 17, 2016 (the trading day
after the payment date, so that trades on and after that date will not
have due bills attached)
-- The due bill redemption date will be February 19, 2016 (the second
trading day after the ex-distribution date, when all trades with due
bills attached have settled)
Thanks
Dave
