Q: I have held PHX for years - mainly for the income but (once upon a time) also for growth as well. Now both seem to have disappeared.
I am considering a switch into BDI (Black Diamond) once again looking for income (~10.4% yield) and growth (currently beaten up but showing signs of life). Could I please have your opinion:
Stay with PHX; or move on to BDI or would that likely be a frying pan/ fire scenario.
If so, any suggestions for another company with income and growth potential.
Thanks for you help.

Q: May I have your opinion of this company?
I'm looking at this as a turnaround play. Stock has been absolutely hammered; but there appears tremendous upside and value here. They were on the brink of bankruptcy due to leverage, and have since recapitalized. They have a cash flow positive assets in Nicaragua as well... Is this a value trap? or a bet worth taking for a patient investor with guts?
Not to encourage groupthink but I've searched the company profile on Morningstar.ca and discovered that this company is a top position in a mutual fund called Pender Small Cap Opportunities.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. I understand that these kind of bets can be volatile.
P.S: I own most of your growth portfolio and am comfortable within the small cap realm of investing, with a time frame over 20 years. Great work on the small cap special report. Keep it up.

Q: Shareholders reject Suncor's bid. What 's next for cos shareholders? Stock going back down?
Q: Peter et al.
What do you make of the Premium Placing at $1.05 by Delek in Ithaca for $66 million and approximately 20% of the shares outstanding? Ithaca has moved up in the last month and seemed to be liquid until after the planned Stella start-up in July of next year. They say the funds will be used to reduce debt and for satellite field acquisitions. If used for debt reduction it will not have much affect on the nearly $750M outstanding debt for the huge equity giveaway. If used to acquire future production at a cheap price then I see value but to reduce the debt it will have a marginal impact right now IMO. What is your viewpoint? Am I missing something here.
Regards,
Brendan

Q: What is your opinion of the quality of the management at Petromanas? I believe they've made some dubious decisions such picking the wrong rig(2000hp instead of 3000hp), and spending money in a futile attempt (so far) to prove reservoir connectivity between 2 of their main prospects (one of which is a 100% wildcat)
Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, & Team
Could you give a current opinion on Lonestar West. The compny seems to be expanding, but could the headwinds sink the ship?

Q: Hi, Peter and Co.
In view of a significant AND constant increase of supply of Natural gas worldwide, how would you characterize the future of PSk.
I own a small/medium position and back to same as last year. Notwithstanding the dividend, not very optimistic as to it's future growth prospect.
You may have a different opinion, thanks for sharing,
Claude

Q: I hold BTE-T and ERF-T and Im over 50% under water on both - originally I invested 3% of my portfolio in each stock (Im comfortable with that weighting). Would you advise averaging down and getting the % back to 3%? Or do I just hold and hope that with a massive oil recovery I may get back to my ACB (gains look unlikely on these two)? Thanks, Neil
Q: Hi Guys,
Any recent update on VLE? it's been awhile since a question has been asked. I see Scott Lamacraft is still the largest shareholder.
