Q: May I have your current thoughts on Alantica Yield? Have they reduced their debt load since your February review of the company? I suppose as a utility like company they can carry more debt due to their steady cash flow. On the other hand recent experience with ALA has taught us that utility like companies can still get into debt problems! 6.9% dividend yield seems to be implying that the company is entering either the danger zone or becoming a great buy - not sure which. Gordon Pape recommends the stock in todays Globe. We already own AQN, BEP.UN and ALA to a 6.5% weighting. We could make a purchase of AY and bump our weighting up to 9%. We wouldn't go higher. In your previous review you noted a link with AQN, could you explain the link a little more?
Thanks,
Jim

Q: I'm interested in India for emerging markets exposure. Would you recommend individual companies (financials?) or go with an ETF or FIH.u? Thanks for your service.

Q: Looking to possibly switch from VEE into another Emerging Market fund. Like Mawer but Mawer 160 is quite small . Or do you other suggestions? Or stay the course with VeEE.

Q: I'm holding about 21% cash right now and would like to invest most of it in foreign equities to diversify from my mostly Canadian portfolio. Do you have any specific ideas of what I may include, ETFs or stocks? I'm wide open for suggestions. My main objective is capital appreciation but I'm aware that good dividend payers most often do better than non-dividend payers.

Q: Good Morning: Recognizing that this company is not in your normal area of operation, I would still appreciate your opinion in terms of the current investability and outlook for it. An analyst on BNN suggested that it really only has Nokia as a publicly traded competitor in its 5G space and is therefore of interest. As best as I can determine its debt is not out of line and it's share price is reasonable value, although revenue seems to be declining recently. Your comments are appreciated. Don

Q: Hi: What is your opinion of EWU for a long-term hold? It pays a pretty good dividend, but I note that it has a fairly high concentration in banking and energy. I would use it to increase my international diversification. Also, is there a similar ETF that is Canadian dollar denominated? Thanks J
