Q: Hello, our portfolio includes AYA/CSU/EH/ACQ/EFN/SJ/STN/HWO (we also have larger cap defensive names with reasonable yields). Am looking for a couple of more-smaller cap growth stocks for Cdn. portfolio. May I please have two or three recommendations? Thank you. Bill Y.

Q: Peter: In your experience, has it ever happened that a company does a bought deal financing and instead of buying something with the money, they instead receive a takeover offer? My intuition tells me something is going on at Heroux Devtek HRX. I am probably wrong but the last time I saw this kind of activity was with a company I owned called Dalsa (though I don't think they had just done a financing)and within a few months it was taken over at a huge premium. Just wondering.
Q: CSS Contrans. Similar to my Q on Healthlease I am in the same position with CSS. Thank you! usually I would by the buyer when it pulled back on the purchase but unfortunately that didn't happen. Do you have some stocks to suggest? Mullen Group perhaps?

Q: Hello 5 I Team
My US Margin Account presently represents only 1% of my total holdings. I intend to make contributions to it later in the year, but for now I would like to see the money "do something" while it's sitting there. Rather than engage in any futile stock picking, I thought I would invest in an ETF which could provide consistent, if modest growth. To that end, I had my eye on the new ETF Direxion iBillionaire Index ETF, (IBLN), or the Market Vectors Wide Moat ETF, (MOAT). I would appreciate your opinion on these choices -- or your suggestion as to what might be a better stock to hold in this context. Thanks for your help.

Q: Hi Team,
Do you have any comments on Aimia Inc.'s latest results and would you still consider it relatively "safe" as a stock and bond holding? I have one of its bonds maturing in September and wonder if I should keep this company on my list of potential investments (either shares or another bond).
Many thanks, Michael

Q: Patrick Horan, on BNN last night, is shorting Cineplex - attendance is dropping and he believes people see movies in recessions, not in good times. I've been a holder of this stock since Jan of this year ($42) and am quite disappointed in its performance to date. (and its in my kids RESP!) Should I get out while my losses are relatively low?
Q: I am looking to add to my tfsa and was wondering if you would prefer ceu (Canadian Energy Services) or ppl (Pembina Pipelines)for a growth strategy. I believe that ceu might have more growth and risk while ppl is more secure but with lower growth possibilities. Are either take out candidates?
Thank you
Thank you
Q: considering Europe's weakness, do you think this will have a negative effect on cdn $ ? (ie weak oil and other commodies)

Q: Hi, regarding Questor, I am down substantially from my original 4% position in my diversified portfolio. There is another 6% drop today and I know you do not agree with averaging down, but I feel a need to do something. Would you bail and sell or just hold for better dayts. Thanks
Q: Hi, Could you please comment on Sylogist earnings, released this evening. Thanks
Q: Please comment on Amaya's quarter.
Q: JDSU Getting tired of holding. Am down 20 per cent in two separate accounts. Street did not like earnings. Starting to think it was a huge mistake buying this for a turnaround. Lots of cash but no catalyst except for possibility of a takeover. Are they in the same space as INVN Invensense? Thinking of switching to INVN. Does that make sense to you?
Q: I would like your opinion on Pioneering Technology (PTE). It is a Mississauga based company trading on the TSE. It seems to be growing rapidly. Thanks.
