Q: Hi Peter and team
I notice Health Lease REIT(HLP.UN) has acquired another property from Mainstreet Property Group. Do you think they are getting these properties at a fair price? They mentioned the appraised value but there was no mention of cap rate. What do you think of the deals they are making with Mainstreet and what do you think of HLP.UN in this market climate?

Q: Hello, I hold an extensive blue chip portfolio aimed at the rising middle class in emerging markets (BRIC's). Portfolio includes KO, NSRGY, NKE, CMI, BUD, GE, HON, ETN IBM & VALE. With reporting season approaching & in light of BRIC slowdown, should I back down or stay the course? Any separate view on VALE (only resource stock)? Appreciate your help.

Q: With the price of gold apparently sliding lower by the day, I am wondering if gold mining companies are worth a review. To that end,could you advise where the best place is to get information on the average cost of mining an ounce of gold, and the historical annual demand and supply.Also, what would Goldcorps cost of production be at the moment and their breakeven for new mines.

Q: Hi Peter & 5i: You mentioned the potential for the flooding in the western prairies area to impact drilling operations on effected lands. I'm wondering more broadly about whether you have any thoughts on other businesses that may be impacted significantly. Unfortunately located REIT properties come to mind on the negative side but there must be other examples. I don't know whether there are "clean-up" oriented businesses that might actually may do well as a result of the disaster. Can you expand my thinking here with suggestions of any stocks that bear extra-careful watching while the waters recede? Thanks!

Q: Peter & Co.,

2 of my core holdings, BCE and Emereging Markets (PIE-N), have just been getting crushed recently, for very different reasons. Are these sell offs overdone, or is there more pain to come? I consider myself a long term investor, but how much longer can I let these stocks be an anchor to my portfolio?

Hi Peter & Co.
Any recent news (good or bad) on Group Colabor. The only recent thing I have seen was an announcement that their dividend declarations would now line up timewise with their quarterly reports. It seems on big market down-days Colabor does not get hammered as badly, would this indicate it is already undervalued?

Q: Regarding IPL.UN this goes back to your comments on Stop Loss points. Following your comments I assessed where I would want a STOP LOSS and removed most. A STOP LOSS today on IPL.UN might have cost an investor dearly.
