Q: Hi Peter and Team, regarding Novus, NVS, I just read that Hong Kong Economics Times has a blurb about Yanchang Petrolium International Ltd wanting to fully acquire NVS for 500 million Cdn 'according to market sources'! Have you heard this through your sources by any chance? If possibly true, then would this value NVS shares at about 2.20 cdn per share (after debt repayment) or have I miss calculated? Is it just another rumour or will NVS be required to halt the stock and report on this if there's some truth to it? Your thoughts on this before markets open would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Q: WY on the NYSE. I have heard that this company should do very well because they have a huge acreage of trees and lumber prices are expected to go up over the next several years as the house building momentum in the USA gains traction. Would you be a buyer of this stock at its current price?
Could you please comment on Canacol Energy's (CNE) update today re their Oso Pardo well and how yoyu think this might affect the share price going forward.

Q: TEVA has been a holding of mine for several years and has been the epitome of dead money. There's certainly been no growth and I wonder is the true PE 8X or 80X as some have it? Can you recommend an U.S. ETF that would represent the industry bearing in mind that I also hold Pfizer?
I note that Valeant is now in the top ten of large cap Canadian companies and do you think it can overtake companies higher up on the list such as Enbridge? Thanks, J.
Q: Re: VUN
I am a longterm investor and have become overweight Canadian equities particularly versus US equities. My question relates to whether I should buy the US broad index now or wait for a more substantial pullback?
Q: Hello, I am thinking about buying an life insurance company as a hedge against rising interest rates. I would switch funds that I currently have in Riocan REIT. Do you think that this is a good idea and if so which of the companies would you recommend ie Manulife, Sunlife, or Great West Life. or any other insurance company you like. Thank you very much for your consideration.
Q: I have been following Chemtrade CHE.UN for sometime looking to add to my RRSP on a pullback. Like it for its good and stable yield. I noticed you cover Canexus CUS in your summary and it looks like a similar company with comparable yield. Which of these would you prefer and which would provide better growth in price and dividend. I notice that CUS has had quite a sell off recently. Is this a good buying opportunity.
Q: Hello. This is follow up on my prev question reg recomm for fixed income. Wanted to know what would you recommend for bonds, preffered, gold, real estate portion of portfolio. Like CBO,CHB,XTR,CPD,XRE or something else you like.

Q: Can you provide your current opinion on Canwell (CWX) and how safe the dividend is? I've owned it for awhile, but have got burned a few times on stocks with high div yields. I do want to stay in this sector, so please advise if there is a safer stock in this sector. Thanks so much for providing this service! John
Your thoughts on TTH (Transition Therapeutics)? I'm thinking of adding it to my portfolio for a speculative health care play. Have you met management? What are your thoughts? Many thanks
