Q: Hi, Further to Paul's question on IPL. In a RRIF still showing a capital gainon IPL would it be wise to unload it and turn to other sectors for income, possibly CSH.UN? What would you recommend for income now? Sold ALA yesterday thankfully. This market is starting to feel like 2008. Thanks for the excellent service.

Q: Hi Peter: I generally just read the answers to questions that others ask and have found your responses very helpful. However, today I would like to ask about ala. I'm not quite sure whether it is regard as a utility or an energy infrastructure entity. I know their activities to some extent fall into both camps, but where would you put the company in this regard. I don't believe it is significantly affected by the price oil (although it may be by gas prices) but it is obviously falling in sympathy with oil.

Q: I am interested in a rising stream of income. Is BP on the NYSE a 'blood in the streets' buy? Also, since it is an ADR am I correct in believing there is no U.S. withholding tax on the dividend?

Q: I am considering making having a full position in Canadian energy where my time frame is very very long and I do not want to spend much research time along the way. I just want divviesv without hassle. Is HEE okay for this or is it better to hold a small basket of Canadian companies. If so which ones?

Q: Why would the company change it's name from Amaya gaming to Amaya Inc?
Do they not want people to know they are in the gaming industry? To me the name change does not reflect what the company does. Or maybe that is the point:after all with 80 million users maybe they will start selling advertising . That would be a huge revenue gain.Just curious in trying to figure out the logic.

Q: Will you be editing - adding and deleting companies - from your Summary listings for 2015?

For those of us new to 5I, who didn't invest in your original Model Portfolio and thus haven't benefited from the wonderful returns you have made, I was wondering if you would consider offering a new Model Portfolio for 2015, based on companies you currently really like and that are at good valuations right now and have great growth opportunities ahead. Q: I own these stocks which have unrealized losses at the moment and would like to crysalize the losses to offset against other gains, since they have all been beat up due to their indirect or direct exposure to the oil industry , I would like to replace them with something similar in their respective areas to capitalize on longer term potential. Would you be kind enough to recommend suitable replacements.

Q: Hello Peter and Team
In an earlier question about tax loss selling you have indicated that XEG and ZEO (BMO's oil and gas ETF) could be deemed identical by CRA and the tax loss could be disallowed. I am wondering whether all oil stocks are considered identical for tax loss selling. E.g I sold WCP yesterday at a loss and I am planning to buy VET tomorrow. Can I claim the capital loss on the sale of WCP??

Q: IPL down quite a bit today. Is there news or is it oil price related? what is the relationship between pipelines and oil price? I would have thought that pipelines make money moving oil and if the price of oil is down, then wouldn't more oil (or at least the same amount) of oil move? Or is the fear that some projects have/will be cancelled because of the low oil prices?

Hoping your can clear this up for me (and likely others). Thanks.

I am looking for safety of dividends and dividend growth, with some share price growth too, and can add about 1% to an existing position.
I am considering adding to one of :

Chartwell CSH.UN - I have a 0.1% starter position..... yield 4.6%.
Emera EMA - I have a 2.0% position........ yield 4.04%.
Enbridge ENB - I have a 2.4% position............yield about 3.07 after latest increase.
Enbridge Income Fund ENF - I have a 5% position............... yield 4.48%.

Which has the least liklihood of a dividend cut, and which would you pick, and why would you choose the one you do.
