Q: I'm wondering if 5i (or if you think others) are starting to warm up to this name a bit after the last few quarters? It obviously has a checkered past with its previous relation to PHM but it trades at a fairly steep discount (2018 EV/EBITDAe) to other TSX listed healthcare names (SIS, CRH, etc.). My thinking is that this valuation gap should close with continued performance.
Thanks for the great service.

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I had to dump TCEHY for a 15% loss today after riding it down from the highs based on continued negative volatility with the stock. I am thinking of buying some of your favorites to replace it, with stable growth in mind. I am looking for companies that have also pulled back recently, and that you consider a good buying opp today. I am looking at initiating a position in CSU, COV, PBH, and possible ADDING to TSGI as I am now down 20% on that one and am thinking that averaging down may be the thing to do here soon. Do you have any other better suggestions or top picks you can suggest? ( I already own TOY, PHO, GSY, FB, BABA, ENB, RHT, HD) Thanks for you input.
Shane.

Q: Hello, I would like your veiw on the energy sector. Is this in your opinion a sector that is on a slow but steady decline with no real chance of a substantial comeback?
I keep watching the protests with the environmentalists and think that between technology and renewable resources it may not do as well as investors think. Are energy producers changing to renewables fast enough?
I have wcp and vet at about 7% of my portfolio, would you add reduce or just stay in the sector as is?
Thanks

Q: Given the recent market volatility, which stocks -US and Canada- look like good buys at this time ?

Thanks

Q: Could you recommend one or two rate reset preferreds that are significantly "underwater" but whose company prospects are reasonably good. As an example CPX.PR.E traded at $13 a couple of years ago and is now north of $23.
Thanks.

Q: Good morning,

I have questions regarding the taxation of foreign dividends. I know that for US dividends, the 15 % tax does not apply for stocks held in a RRSP, but does so in a TSFA or regular account.

- What about non US stocks listed in the US? Are they simply treated as a US stock since they are listed in the US or do other rules apply depending on where the company is based? Good examples would be stocks like LYG (UK) or BABA (China).

- More generally, is the deduction applied automatically when the dividend is paid or does it have to be declared manually by the shareholder on its annual tax report?

I understand fiscal matters are not your specialization, but I figure you or other members might have had the same questions at some point.

Thank you!
