Q: Yesterday BNN guest suggested TRP.PR.K to use as a saving account as it is a reset with a minimum 4.5% reset or better. For those of us with excess cash do you recommend using this security as an alternate to a MMF?
QQQX was pointed out to me as an interesting CEF with a 7.1% yield as well as some very interesting growth oriented holdings. What do you think about this CEF?
With thanks
Sheldon

Q: I'm starting to question why I should keep holding-on to "Peyto" for its 4.7% dividend. Natural gas lost of lot of ground and Equity Clock shows that seasonally it goes much lower during the end of summer. What concerns me the most is this: Could PeyTo be impacted by Trump's BAT? GameHost has a 5% dividend. If what I want is income and insulation from the Trump's trade war, is that a smart switch?
Q: This one is a under performer for sure, however, does it not look cheap relative to its peer at this level? I own it much higher and am thinking of averaging down...I did the same thing when i bot baytex at 35.00 and got out even...

Q: Hello Peter,
I am currently underweight commodities and overweight technology. What would you think of selling DSG and ENGH and buying TOG and RRX? Do you think whatever incremental return expected by this change would justify the increase in volatility and risk?
Also, what are the approx wait times in terms of weeks for a portfolio review?
Regards.

Q: I'm considering Suncor or CNRL for a long term hold. Could you please discuss the merits of each with an eye to exposure to impact from potential Trump decisions. Which would you buy today and is there another company in this space I should consider (I also have ENB,VET and RRX)?
Thanks for the great service!

Q: In a follow-up to my question in regards to the ex dividend date for a dividend payout I would like to thank Mike for clarifying the drip portion of the dividend payout. My question now is what do you mean by on the day of the ex dividend that the stock does not trade with the dividend. On that day does the stock have a lower or higher price? or if you sell it on that date you don't get the dividend. Thanks.
Q: Looks like CLCT knocked the cover off the ball. What did you think of their results and do you think it sustainable going forward?

Q: What impact would have the dramatic increase in gold production in 2018 on the share price?
Q: What do you think about the take over offer. Do you think there will be another bidder? I was hoping for a little more as my cost are $2.75 a share.
Thank you.

Q: Hi everyone,
What oil company would you choose to take advantage of possible higher oil prices in the near future (in case of confrontation with Iran) while avoiding possible border tax proposals against Canadian oil? Would you choose smaller Canadian or US large cap? Which one do you think would be a safer bet SPE or SGY? Or would you recommend something with even better MANAGEMENT like VET with operations outside Canada? Or do you prefer a US company with better growth?
Thank you in advance for your promptness and insights.

Q: What are your thoughts on Worthington Industries? Thank-you.
Q: would you consider these two stocks close to the stocks in your growth portfolio for an investment
Q: A guest on BNN said this was a new kind of preferred share. Is it a good way to diversify portfolio and gain some yield. What are risks to this investment or is owning common stock of TransCanada a better idea.
Q: What are HCG plans moving forward regarding getting the banking license? Will they take deposits, issue credit cards, wealth management etc? Will they expand revenue streams by opening branches?
Q: What do you feel is the end game for MRC as a long term shareholder. Illiquid and buying back shares makes it even more illiquid, under valued by many measures. Do you feel they will be bought out or taken private at some point? Or they need the public markets for the subsidiaries.
Q: I have just completed re-balancing my RIF - selling some & retaining the following: L, FTS, AQN, EIF, KXS, ENGH, IPL & FB. My surplus in cash is now approx. $145,000 CDN. I have decided to place this amount into the USA. As I already own Facebook, this would round out my US holdings at about $155K US. While I like TXN & EBIX I would appreciate your suggestions & comments as to these as well as others you favor - allowing for the present turmoil in this marketplace. Thank you.
Q: New report soon on GUD ?
Q: AYA raised guidance on Jan 20 and then last week made a payment out of cash on hand on the deferred purchase price. What does it all mean and how does the prospects look Going forward?
