Q: Your PA has recommended reducing my Tech holdings and increasing my US and International allocation. I would like to reduce Tech by about 1/3 and use those proceeds for purchasing VUN and XEF. VUN appears to have about a 20% tech component, so I would need to reduce more than the 1/3 of my current holdings to offset that VUN tech portion. Your recommendations on which equities I should trim/eliminate would be very helpful in trying to sort this out !! Many thanks, as always.

Current Tech % holdings in RSP/TFSA/ UnReg accounts are approx:
ENGH 2.5%
KXS 3.5 %
OTEX 3..5 %
SHOP 3.5%
SYZ 3.8%
PHO 1.3%
and in RIFs - for yield:
AB 3%
ET 1.8%

Q: Peter and Team:
I have done very well on SHOP (500%) and it now consists of almost 10% of my portfolio. I do not want to sell a winner, but was wondering if I should trim bit, put a stop loss order on it or ride the wave?
What are your concerns with "stops" in general.

I'v god skier when CITRON published bad news about Shopify on 4th.April and I have sold all my SHOP same day. It was bad decision & I regret it. Now I have 130K to invest and I'm thinking to invest in all above stocks. All of the stocks accept for SIS & KXS are on their top and this skiers mi. Which one would you go as a first to invest and which one would you wait for better opportunity.

Q: What makes Shopify , 3 yr. gain 800%, 1 yr gain 75%, Amazon 3 yr. gain 180%, 1 yr gain 20%. Is the market telling us that Shop is a more valuable co. than Amazon? I just don't see how you can you can compare the two, at this growth Shop will be larger than Amazon in 3 yrs.

Q: Hi guys, thanks for the excellent service and continued improvements. I find the new Portfolio Analytics section very helpful. Long winded question here so please deduct as many credits as you see fit.

I am overweight in tech, at 40% overall. I have 40% tech in both my RRSP and TFSA.

The biggest names I have are AAPL 9%, TEAM 6%, and NVDA 6%. All of those are held in the US side of my RRSP.

I have a mix of 15 stocks in my TFSA, roughly equal weighting. The tech holdings in there are PHO, KXS, CSU, SYZ, SHOP. Each comprises about 6% of the TFSA but just over 1% of overall holdings.

I am 7-8% underweight in:
consumer defensive,
communication services,
industrials,
utilities.

I feel I should trim back or sell at least one of AAPL, TEAM or NVDA but hard to given they have all been growing and have potential to grow further. Are there any obvious choices to cut or pull back here? Can you please suggest at least one name from each of the following sectors:
consumer defensive,
communication services,
industrials,
utilities.
