Q: Peter, Aecon seems to be behaving better as of late, and has won a new contract. I'm about 20% under water on this position, but as I'm looking for a 5 plus year hold I'm considering adding to my current half position. Your thoughts appreciated. Also, might this be a stock you might commence coverage on?

Q: What exactly qualifies as order backlog? Is this considered contracted projects with a high level of certainty that revenue will follow within a certain time frame? Also, can a growing backlog signal issues with a company that they are failing to grow their infrastructure in order to meet demand?

Q: Hello. Could I get your thoughts on ARE after another revenue and earnings miss? CEO says this was a result of project delays, not cancelations, and 60% of the growing backlog will translate to revenue in 2015. The misses, cost management and exposure to oil/gas and mining concern me. Thoughts for someone who bought around $15? Thanks.

Q: I bought Aecon (ARE) about six months ago. After a very healthy gain it has come back down lately. Given that I had regretted not taking a larger position initially, this may be an opportunity to add to my position. Can I please get your views on ARE, assuming a 5 - 10 year horizon. Thank you!

Q: I hold Aecon (ARE) and have been planning to keep it for at least a year. But the recent earnings report shows significant drop in profit and earnings per share for both the year and quarter; although the dividend did increase nicely. I would be most interested in your opinion on its future.

You provide a great service for the independent investor. Many thanks

Q: Hello Peter, when Cineplex offer its convertible debentures, I think you said you weren't a fan of CDs in general, but since they were Cineplex, they would be ok. Now Aecon is offering them. I know you prefer Stantec over Aecon, so how do you feel about Aecon CDs? Can you explain why you aren't a fan of CDs in general?
Thanks very much.
