Q: Hello, Given that Aecon is up for sale, is this a good time to buy a half position on this company. Your thoughts on the company, its backlog and financial position is appreciated. Thanks. Shyam

Aecon Group Inc. (ARE $20.04)
-
Bird Construction Inc. (BDT $23.18)
-
Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CBI $16.39)
Q: I am trying to compare these 3 construction companies, are you able to give me a snapshot comparison?
Q: Hello team, I own shares in ARE. Would it make sense for STN to make a bid for ARE. If STN was to offer .70 of a STN share for ARE I think it makes a compelling offer.

-
WSP Global Inc. (WSP $277.15)
-
Stantec Inc. (STN $149.25)
-
Aecon Group Inc. (ARE $20.04)
Q: I consider WSP and STN my core holdings but now due to excellent appreciation they represent 7% and 3% of my portfolio. ARE has been a laggard and represents 1%. With ARE should I go back to SNC which I owned in the past (upside due to the recent acquisition?) or just keep WSP and STN as the only stocks in this area?
Q: Could you compare the prospects of these two companies going forward

Q: I would like to add one infrastructure company to my portfolio (I have none) which one of the above specified companies do you prefer, or do you have another suggestion?
I like the WSP's dividend, but I like to see some growth as well. Which one of these companies will give me the highest total return? i.e dividend plus share appreciation.
Thanks in advance,
Jacob

Q: Market reaction on the previous earnings report for Aecon, AutoCanada and Brookfield Asset Management brought me unpleasant surprises and the price of stocks substantially dropped. This makes me nervous as we approach the new earnings season. My questions are:
1. Would you recommend holding the above listed stocks or perhaps selling some of them?
2. In general, shouldn't it be safer to sell all stocks a week or two before earnings, an buy them again later?

Q: Which one of these infrastructure companies might have better growth potential, being well aware of their size and global reach difference.
Thank you Team!

Q: If we believe all we are hearing there could be a lot of government spending on Infrostructure both in Canada and the US. With this in mind how would you rate the above companies for growth in the next 2 - 3 yrs? Which would be benefitting most from US expenditure? Any others you would prefer?
(If this is more than one question - OK) I always appreciate your good advice. Thks.

Q: In a reply to a question today you quote a (trailing?) P/E of 15. earnings this year have been variable with the first 9 mon. at .29/sh but the last qtr .42/sh. Can you make any reasonable guess at a forward P/E ??
Thanks Jim
Thanks Jim
Q: Please comment on earnings and the (seemingly) strong reaction to a modest quarterly miss this morning? SP is off 12% at the open. YTD results are still ahead of last year. Is this an entry point and would you recommend ARE for a long term (5+ years) hold?
Q: What accounts for ARE's 13% drop this morning. What is your opinion of the 3rd qtr results. Is it a buying opportunity?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: What are your current thoughts about ARE.
Q: I own the 5.5% Aecon 31 Dec 18 convertible debentures. They are trading at about $109, and I bought them in Dec 2014 at about par. Should I take my profit now? If I wait until maturity, I will lose the current premium. I suppose they are trading at a premium because of the embedded warrant value.
Q: What is your opinion on ARE today and would you sell and what do you prefer in this space

Q: I am looking at these 4 stocks for a combination of growth and income. Do you see any problem with these or do you have a better suggestion? Also, do you feel now is a good time to buy or would it be better to wait until summer is over?
