Q: Hi Peter and Team, may I please have your thoughts on the plan of Arrangement involving Waldron Energy Corporation, WDN, and Montana Exploration Corp? Any information on Montana Exp would be appreciated. Should I take the cash, and take a substancial loss, or take shares in Montana Exp and hope to recoup some of the loss still? Thanks!

Q: I am hearing good things about LNG in the near future. Could you talk a little about this (time frame)and the best way to play it? If the fall and winter seasons are generally good for the drillers, do we now have 2 catalysts for companies like PD? Do you like another driller going forward?

Q: Hi Peter:
I have owned shares in SU, CNQ, CVE for awhile (over 2 years);
recently, Suncor has been outperforming the rest
I also noted that the volume of Su in NYSE has also been very active, one of the commentators at BNN said that street consensus is $ 42
Could I have your insight why SU is outperforming the rest and is the target of $ 42 is achievable in the short term of within 6 months ? thanks

Q: Hello, I am wondering about holding on to ESN. I am up over 30% and I note it is up today over 5% on no news (that I can find). I am inclined to hold on rather than take profits. I plan to hold the stock long term, 3 years plus. Any reason to sell? Thanks.Bill

Q: Having reviewed my oil and gas holdings with the objective of strengthening this part of my portfolio, would you advise selling and then replacing BNP,PWT, CPG and ERF with TOU, BTE,VET and either PEY or TET?

As usual, a big thankyou for your helpfulness and guidance.

Q: Hi Peter & the 5i Team,

You've said in the past that CPG isn't your favourite company in the O/G sector and I certainly agree with that assessment. Based on my results, even with the generous DRIP program and its 5% discount, and after holding CPG for several years, I'm still slightly underwater. It appears that CPG is incapable of breaking through the $40 mark. (Although it pays a hefty dividend of over 7%, its price has flat-lined).

Many analysts rate CPG as "sector outperform" or "strong buy", etc. etc., but my results certainly prove otherwise. I have (fortunately) only half a position in CPG, and bought it at that time due to its inclusion as a so-called "dividend aristocrat", and not knowing about 5i. (!) So at the present, I'm frustrated knowing I'm not reaping the benefits of an alternative O/G stock like VET.

My question is this: What "non-emotional" criteria should an investor use to determine if and when a stock should be sold?

Thanks in advance.

Q: Mr. Hodson,the consensus recommendation provided by Thomson Reuters for the following oil sands producers is as follows:
SU 1.86, CVE 2.13, CNQ 2.22, IMO 2.67, COS 3.11 (on a scale of 1 to 5, the lower the better)

Does that make sense, and is SU currently the best ? They all have enormous reserves, with no exploration risk. Is there some meaningful advantages to having some synthetic crude (CNQ and 100% for COS)?
