Q: Gold seems to be getting a bit of support even with the strong USD which is encouraging compared to other commodities. With a low CAD$ and cheaper oil CDN producers should have an advantage and be able to increase cashflow. I have G but am looking at other low cash cost producers with mines in Canada. What are your thoughts on Detour, Richmont, and New Gold? Any other suggestions?

Q: Overall what is your take on the basing pattern and now lift in the gold price? Do you think it may be going into a long term upward swing or perhaps just world jitters and or seasonality. Thanks.

Q: Fission Uranium recently announced it's maiden resource estimate which seemed to surpass expectations. I know this sector has been unloved. and we may be a few years away from working thru any uranium supply surplus. Wondering if it might not be too early for forward thinking investors, to consider the uranium space, and in particular FCU. Do you consider it a potential take out candidate somewhere in the future? Thanks very much.

Q: Hello,
What are your thoughts on First Mineral? I hold half position in FM and was planning to increase it to a full position. The stock is down 13% in the past 3 days - should I take it as an opportunity or a warning? I am considering holding the stock for 2-3 years. (My current exposure to energy and materials combined is 25%)
Thanks.

Q: Central Gold Trust appears to be undervalued. The Trust holds segregated bullion in a major Canadian Bank. What do you think of this method of participating in the gold sector without personally owning gold?
Q: I think my question is a first. I would like to know the names (ticker symbols will suffice) of those gold and silver companies that provide a royalty stream. I thought I might find the answer in the "View by Category" section. I was astounded by how many questions you answer on the gold/silver sector. I'm thinking SSO, Silver Standard; and OR,Osisko would be good picks What would your top 2 choices be? I prefer growth as important as the dividend.
Q: I have 5% weighting in the Materials sector between Russell Metals, Teck, and Rio.
Do you think I should drop any of these and if so which one(s).
And if so, should I replace with Goldcorp or Silver Wheaton or Quantum or any other that you may suggest.

Q: Some analyst are saying that gold and silver might preform better this year. I do not have any precious metals in my portfolio and was thinking of adding a silver or gold stock. I am looking at Eldorado gold, first majestic silver, fortuna silver and pan American silver. what are you thoughts? brenda
Q: FCX, with a P/E of 10.8 and a dividend of 5.55% seems an obvious buy (all else remaining equal) though despite a relatively high payout ratio (84%). Would this be your favoured blue chip in this sector?
Q: Hi folks, argonaut came out with production & guidance numbers today,Desjardins said they were disappointing. Can I get the experts opinion on ar/t,not very good at reading reports and ar/t used to have $700sh all in costs per ounce, have these risen to $1,200+/oz or did I read wrong.Stock sold off 10% but closed near flat at $2.55sh.Would u rate buy, hold or sell, thanks as always jb
Q: Peter, just a comment
My very first question/comment 3 years ago (!)was about the treatment of Canadian companies in the USA and the multitude of pains they were going through to get permits. Would you believe that Romarco took 7 years to obtain all permits to end up being immediately challenged by the Sierra Club (last month). South Carolina is desperate to get jobs and the community is all behind Romarco. It will probably be another 6 months to get some resolution for a project that was costing gold extraction at $500 and is now still very much profitable, but at around $800 this time around.I own and like romarco a lot.
I have watched and invested often in other companies facing the same challenges... Augusta, Peeble creel.. and Invernia which went through hell for many years on all sorts of injunctions, it was incredible to follow what they went through. I understand their pain, and the need to sell ( i made my last purchase at .035 cents and sold at .7 ). I wish Australia and the USA would treat us the same way we seem to treat them.
Publish if you deem it interesting for the community. It is only a comment no more.

Q: You have not been asked about IVW for some time. It has done nothing for years and now at $0.05 it seems to be at a multi-year low. Provided it can survive until economies around the world begin to pick up, it may be a good "bottom fishing" opportunity. Do you have a current view on this Company?

Q: The gold sector is rallying hard for the last couple of days. Can you offer any comment why, and also AR seems to be outperforming the rest of the gold sector, any idea why?

Q: I know 5i isn't about the charts or predicting price movements, but the chart of Silver Wheaton SLW from April 2013 to today is shockingly symmetrical. I'm no expert on charts but one would think there's something meaningful in the pattern. The question is, "What happens to the pattern from here?" If the symmetry continues, and looking at a two year chart, the stock is setting up for huge burst to the upside. Any thoughts?
